Chapter Twelve

Wyatt's POV

I was sitting in my office trying to work but failing since all I can think about is my kiss with Steffy this morning. I sat there in my own little bubble separating me from reality which I snapped back too when Ivy started snapping her fingers in my face.

"Oh sorry,how long have you been standing there?"I asked embarrassed over how I hadn't noticed her standing there.

"About an hour." She said sarcastically as I rolled my eyes and we shared a tiny laugh.

"What were you thinking about so intensely?" She asked me and even though I considered Ivy my best friend I just didn't think I should tell her.

"Nothing." I plainly said.

"And by nothing you mean Steffy right?" She asked shocking me.

"That obvious?" I asked her.

"That you like each other, we all figured it out last week at the gala, so yeah its obvious. Why don't you ask her out?" She said and asked.

"I did this morning, when we were talking about the kiss we shared last week but she said it was a mistake and it's never happening again but I proved her wrong when I kissed her right after that." I explained to her.

"Did she kiss you back?" She asked seeming really excited.

"Yeah both times but she just runs right afterwards so I have no idea what to do." I said as I sighed in defeat.

"Well she obviously likes you if she kissed you back maybe she's scared." She said.

"Scared of what we hardly know each other." I said looking at her.

"Maybe that's it, how about stop being so impulsive with your kisses and just get to know her as friends first." She explained.

"Ha didn't think of it that way. Thanks Ivy." I said as I admitted her point made sense.

"Yeah well what are friends for." She said but I was too busy thinking of what she said to focus on anything else now, I grabbed my car keys and walked out.

"Where are you going?" She asked yelling and I turned around to her.

"To get to know my new friend." I told her and winked at her before walking out of the office and go downstairs to Steffy's. I opened the door and saw her doing some work on her desk. She looked up and seemed suprised when she saw me. She was about to say something but I quickly hushed hrr and grabbed her hand and dragged her out of the office.

"Wait, wait,wait where are we going?" She asked stopping me when we reached the front door.

"You said that we shouldn't have kissed and you were right." I said to her and from what I could tell she seemed a little hurt.

"Look Steffy, I like you and I haven't hidden anything I felt before in my life and I'm certainly not going to hide what I feel about you, but I think we need to know each other a little better so when I do kiss you again, you won't see it as a spontaneous moment and doubt its sincerity." I said to her and she changed her expression from hurt to impressed.

"So can we start off as friends?" I asked praying she'd say yes.

"Of course but you still haven't told me where do you want to take me?" She agreed than asked.

"Well because we are friends now and its still eleven o'clock in the morning, I'm going to take you to all my favorite places around town and then you will show me yours while we play a little game of twenty questions. But first we will go back to your place so you can change and then we will go to mine and I'll change." I told her the plan and she just smiled and nodded in agreement.

"So is that a yes?" I asked hopefully and she nodded.

"Yeah let's do it after all L.A can't be all work and no play besides I think my boss just give me the day off." She said being sarcastic at the end.

"Yeah I think he did I mean he is such a great boss." I played along and we both laughed.

"Yeah he is." She kind of blurted it out and I smiled at her not knowing how deeply she said affected me I would say I was embarrassed but I quickly shrugged it off and grabbed her hand and dragged her to my truck. We first went by her place and I waited in the car until she came down wearing a cute jeans short with a black top and a sandel all while carrying a black leather bag. Then we went back to my plact and after I came out of the room when I was done changing I was going back to the truck when I found Steffy waiting at my front door.

"What are you doing here?" I asked confused.

"Well you said to show you my favorite places in town well your backyard is one." She said and I laughed.

"What are you laughing about?" She asked me seeming confused.

"Nothing it's just that I was going to take you to the beach too." I told her.

"Well okay than." She said.

"Let's go take a swim. I'll race you there" She said and started running and I ran after her. We took a little swim, then I took her to my favorite ice cream shop.

"An ice cream shop?" She asked looking confused.

"Hey don't mock it until you try it. My mum used to bring me here every time I passed a test. This place has some of my best childhood memories in it." I explained to her.

"Then what are we waiting for." She said getting out of the car and I followed. She ordered the mango ice cream and I ordered the chocolate chip one. She licked it and looked to have really enjoyed it.

"See I told you best place in town." I told her.

"Well you were right now finish up because its my turn." She told me and I did as I was told after we were done we went back to my beach house.

"What are we doing here?" I asked her.

"It was the last place I felt my baby inside me." She said and looked at me when a tear escaped her eye but I quickly wiped it away.

"Come on let's go." I told her trying to cheer her up. I took her to a theme park by the beach and we played until it was nightfall. We talked about everything from the past, to the present and what we want for the future. After we ate some sandwiches, I drove her home and then went back to my place. I couldn't sleep that night thinking about the perfect day I just had with who I now know for sure is the perfect girl for me.
