Han:

Is she awake?

Hoshi:

Huh! Yeah.

[Jeonghan's fingers clenched around the edge of the kitchen counter as he glanced toward his younger brother, his voice tinged with unease.]

Han:

She didn't say anything, did she?

[The concern in his voice was undeniable. No matter how much time passed, he could never shake the guilt that came with Y/N's silence.]

Hoshi:

No... she doesn't want to be with anyone if that person isn't him.

[Jeonghan exhaled sharply, shaking his head in silent defeat. There was nothing left to say. They both knew the truth....one that haunted their home every day.

Hoshi hesitated before speaking again, choosing his words carefully.]

Hoshi:

Can't we talk to him?

[Jeonghan's eyes hardened.]

Han:

You know it's dangerous for him.

Hoshi:

She doesn't even talk to him like before. Just "hello" and "bye." Those are the only words she's said to him in the past five years. He wants to talk to her, but she won't even look at him.

[Jeonghan's jaw tensed as he looked away.]

Han:

Somewhere deep inside his heart, he still wants to know Y/N. He wants to talk to her, but she ignores him every time they meet.

[Hoshi leaned forward slightly, his expression determined.]

Hoshi:

I have a plan.

[Jeonghan turned to him with an exasperated look, already knowing where this was headed.]

Han:

No. We are not setting up any meetings for them. It's terrible for Y/N. I don't want her to hate us or get angry again.

Hoshi:

Come on, Hyung, this time I have a superb idea.

[Jeonghan's expression screamed, Are you out of your mind?

Hoshi, undeterred, smirked.]

Hoshi:

Just wait and watch. I promise she'll never know it was us.

Han:

I'm not interested. But remember this....if something happens, it's entirely your fault.

Hoshi:

Whatever.

[Jeonghan sighed, turning back to the breakfast table. He set the dishes carefully, as if trying to distract himself from the weight in his chest.]

Y/N:

Good morning.

Han:

Morning.

[The air between them was thick with unspoken words, a silence that had settled in ever since that day. They didn't talk like they used to. Not like she talked to Hoshi, at least. And they both knew why.

Jeonghan glanced at Y/N between bites, the tension evident. He hated this distance between them. He hated how awkward it had become. But what could he do?
