SIDE STORY
(Joshua and Mingyu break up)
Joshua:
Gyu, look at this. It looks nice....let's go there.
[Joshua said, holding up his phone with a small smile as he showed Mingyu a photo of a popular restaurant. They were going on a date today, and Joshua had spent the last hour browsing places, hoping to find somewhere perfect to make the evening feel special.]
Gyu:
Just choose where you want to go. Tell me the time, I'll be ready by then.
[Joshua's smile faltered slightly. He looked at Mingyu with a quiet pout, searching his expression for something....interest, warmth, maybe just a little excitement. But Mingyu barely looked up. Noticing Joshua's silence, he sighed.]
Gyu:
You know I'm not good with choosing places for dates. Don't be like this.
[Joshua's shoulders dropped as he let out a small sigh. He turned back to his phone, scrolling through his screen with numb fingers, hoping....foolishly....that Mingyu would soften, maybe apologize, maybe say something to pull him back in. But instead, Mingyu's phone rang. Without a word, he answered it and walked out of the room, leaving Joshua behind in the quiet.]
Joshua:
What should I do to make you feel the same?
[His voice barely escaped his lips, soft and filled with ache. For as long as he could remember, his heart had belonged to Mingyu. They had been a couple for nearly a year now, and Joshua was still hopelessly, deeply in love with him. Mingyu was everything he ever wanted....charming in the way that lit up every room, effortlessly funny, and gentle when he chose to be. But there was always something missing.
At first, Joshua thought it was just time. That love, like anything real, would grow. That maybe Mingyu wasn't there yet, but he would be. Someday. But as the seasons passed and their laughs were no longer echoed by shared dreams or lingering touches filled with meaning, Joshua began to understand.
He loved Mingyu. But Mingyu didn't love him back.
And maybe he never would.]

Joshua:
Gyu, I need to talk to you about something.
Gyu:
What is it?
[Mingyu said, eyes still glued to his phone screen, scrolling absently. Joshua's jaw clenched. With a flick of his wrist, he reached out and snatched the phone from Mingyu's hand.]
Gyu:
Heyyy....
Joshua:
I'm talking to you. So concentrate.
Gyu:
Fine. What is it?
[Joshua drew in a shaky breath, trying to steady the storm brewing in his chest.]
Joshua:
Do you... do you not love me?
[Mingyu's eyes widened, completely caught off guard.]
Gyu:
What? No....who said that to you? Of course I like you.
