Marlon's POV
I had to be dreaming with what was happening right now. I couldn't believe Tonya and I were about to kiss, this had to mean that she felt the same!
I felt like I was in pure bliss although we hadn't even kissed yet, because this simple gesture alone was confirmation that she liked me. I mean, she had to. No girl would kiss a guy she didn't like, right?
As I leaned in a bit more, a voice startled the both of us, making us pull away from each other like we'd been shocked by electricity.
"What are you guys doing?" Michael asked, yawning shorty after. Tonya and I both looked down at him from the top bunk to see him standing, sleepily rubbing his eyes. Way to ruin the moment, Mike..
"Um- nothing! We're just.. talking 'cause we can't sleep," I lied, discreetly scooting away from Tonya a little so it wouldn't look weird. Did he see anything? I hope not. Maybe he didn't, it is pretty dark in this room.
I didn't need him blabbing to the other guys and teasing us the whole time. I also didn't want to put a label on us just yet, so this'll be my little secret with Tonya for a while. Besides, I don't need Joe finding out, either.
"Uh.. alright," I heard Michael respond, making his way to the bathroom. "I just had to use the bathroom," he says before going in said bathroom and locking the door.
I looked at Tonya and she looked at me. All of a sudden the surge of confidence in me disappeared and I felt shy. I grinned slightly and scratched the back of my neck. "So..."
"So," she replied back, looking at me playfully. I felt a hand grab mine and looked down to see that it was hers, intertwining her fingers with mine.
I looked at her, to see what she had to say. She looked stunning with the moonlight shining on her face from the window.
Tonya giggled softly and beautifully like she always does. "I think I'll be able to sleep well now," she tells me with a smile, climbing down from my bed and getting into her own.
"R-Right," I respond, unusually stumbling over my words like a middle schooler in love. She makes me crazy.
"Goodnight, Marlon," I hear Tonya tell me, all cuddled up in her bed now. I lay down and get myself comfortable in my own bed, too.
"Night, Ton," I reply, my voice coming out a little higher than I intended. She giggled quietly at me and I felt my cheeks heat up.
