Tonya's POVAfter the trip to the gas station, the boys and I had arrived to the hotel pretty quickly because it was just down the road. It shocked me just how close we were to said hotel. "Geez, we're already here?" I heard Randy ask, thinking the same as me.
"Yeah, it was just down the road, man," Tito says as if he already knew the route we were going, but I knew he didn't, he was just playing around. I look over at Marlon who had already finished his candy and he flashes me his signature smile, giving me butterflies.
"Can y'all lovebirds chill out for one day?" Randy asks, making Marlon and I look away from each other. "Man, shut up and get out," Marlon says, motioning towards the door. His brothers and I laugh.
There were some workers there who noticed the guys as the Jacksons and of course, took their bags inside. Once the boys' driver had explained to them who I was, they took mine inside as well.
Being the sweethearts that they are, the guys tried convincing the workers that we could very much carry the bags ourselves but the staff insisted. They said it was such an honor to have the Jacksons and their mystery girl at their hotel. I guess they assumed I must be some mystery girl celebrity since I'm hanging with the Jacksons.
Once we made it inside the hotel, our driver checked us in. "Yep, I know those Afros anywhere. I can tell your the Jacksons," the lady at the counter jokes, but suddenly she looked at me funny.
"Of course I have no right to know but.. is this young lady one of you boys' girlfriends?" she teases. I blush and can't help but discreetly glance at Marlon.
"She's mine," I hear a voice that did not belong to Marlon say. I look over, and see Jermaine with a proud grin on his face. What?! The lady giggles at this, "well, I won't tell anyone," she muses, handing Tito the keys to our rooms.
Before I could even straighten things out, a man was already escorting us to our rooms while some other staff followed us with our bags. We went on the elevator and it was awkwardly quiet the entire time. I think the other boys felt weird about what Jermaine said, too.. unless they believed him..?
Once we made it to our floor, the staff dropped our bags off and one of them showed us our rooms. There were two of rooms with two sets of bunk beds in them. Our driver had said he'd get a room alone so we all could have our 'teenage privacy', whatever that means.
Randy and Michael were oddly overjoyed by this because 'no adult supervision'! And they had every right to be, cause they weren't allowed to be kids without adults hogging them everywhere they go, so I'm happy for them.
"These are your rooms, guys. Enjoy your stay," one of the staff tells us before leaving. "Thank you," Michael says to him before looking over at Tito. "Let's go, man, we don't got all day," he jokes and Tito playfully rolls his eyes, unlocking one of the rooms' doors.
"Who's staying where?" Jackie asks. "I wanna go with Marlon," Michael says, going over to stand next to him. "Alright," Tito says, "some of y'all don't need to be in a room together," he explains, and I knew that he was hinting at Jermaine. "So I'll choose the rest for y'all."
"Can I.. go with Marlon, too..?" I ask, shy all of a sudden since all the brothers looked at me. I was a very soft-spoken, quiet person but they didn't have to look at me like this was my first time ever speaking, it made me nervous. "Yeah," Tito tells me with a knowing smile.
I nod and stand over next to Marlon, too. "How come she gets to choose?" I hear Jermaine ask, and Jackie playfully pushes him in the shoulder. "They're best friends you goof," Jackie tells Jermaine. "Whatever.."
I fight the urge to laugh at those two. "Alright, well," Tito begins, looking over all of us. "Jermaine, Randy and Jackie in this room," he says pointing towards one of the rooms, "and I guess I'll go with Marlon and them in the other. Are we all good with that?"
We all nod and make sounds of agreement at Tito's words, all except for Jermaine. "Jermaine," Tito starts with an irritated sigh, "what you mad for?" he asks, "you can't have every girl you see man if you tryna get in there with Tonya."
"What? That ain't it, I don't like her," Jermaine says quickly, getting defensive all of a sudden. "Then what was that shit you pulled at the counter?" Marlon speaks up, crossing his arms. They were getting a little heated now and I was worried. The boys don't curse that often.
"This ain't your conversation, Marlon," Jermaine gets loud, snatching the key from Tito. "I can put myself in it if I want to. She's my best friend, not yours," Marlon counters, and this seems to throw Jermaine off from whatever he was going to reply with next.
"Come on y'all. People might see us. 'Don't need the press all in our drama," Jackie says, trying to calm things down.
"Let's just get inside," Jermaine grunts, unlocking the door and going into his designated room with Jackie and Randy.
