3. Fresh fruit

I walked around and scanned the shops.

Honey, soaps, eggs...

"Wait!" We all stopped as Stef dug around her bag for her money.

"You said this one is good for acne, right?"

"Oh yes! It's great!" The lady began to tell a story about how her and her son went through a lot of acne and this cured it.

Stef has been struggling with acne since middle school.

It's always been a sensitive topic for her.

She's tried everything.

Stef bought two bars and we went on.

"Do we have jam?" Vinny asked looking over the plethora of jars.

"Um, I think so?"

"Let's get more just in case."

She got a few jars and I looked around.

"Fruit!"

I sped walked through the people and found my holy grail.

Mangos, peaches, strawberries, blueberries, grapes, watermelon, kiwis. Anything you could think of.

What should I get?

Mangos, peaches for sure.

And I love fresh sweet juicy strawberries.

"What can I get for you ma'am?"

I ordered my fruit and she handed me the bags.

"How much?"

She told me the total and I reached for my wallet.

"Here you are."

I looked up and saw Johnny hand her some money.

"Thank you, you two are such a cute couple." She smiled and I turned red.

"We're not a couple. And he's not paying for me."

"I just did." Johnny smiled and I gulped.

"No, it's okay. How much do I owe you?" I asked him as the lady helped out my friends.

"A date?"

"Oh..."

"What?"

"Will 50 dollars be enough?" I asked pulling a bill from my roll.

"Come on, just let me take you out. One date, that's all I ask!"

"I don't know..."

"Did I do something wrong? Was I too pushy?"

"No, it's not you! I just... I don't know."

It's a prank. I know it is. The first and only time someone asked me out on a date, I was stood up and they took a video of me waiting alone.

They laughed at me and asked if I really thought they would wanna go out with someone as fat as me.

"Come on, you're all he talked about yesterday and today. Just give my boy a chance." Gaz smiled and I looked at him.

"I'm not really... looking-"

"Come on, he seems nice. Just give him a chance. Vinny and I will be watching from afar. Can't hurt, can it?" Stef whispered into my ear.

Not much help you guys will be if he tries something....He's military....

Vinny smiled and shrugged.

"This isn't some prank, is it?"

"My boys are gentlemen. They don't play with ladies like that." Price nodded and Simon stared at me.

"Um, okay then. I guess one date can't hurt."

"Great! How about I pick you up at around 8 tonight?" Johnny seemed overjoyed.

I don't really want you to know where I live....

"Or we can meet at the place."

"That's okay too."

He seemed to understand my concern.

"Can I have your number? So I can text you the address?"

I nodded and took out my phone THAT I HAD ALL ALONG BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE IN CHAPTER ONE THOUGHT I DIDN'T HAVE A PHONE and gave him my number.
