Once we agreed to explore the building, Meg and I grabbed our stuff and left the kitchen. We thought about taking the elevator, but I suggested we take the stairs so we could talk about one thing. We were going to explore each floor anyway, so it's no problem.

When we started to walk up the steps, I took the opportunity to touch on the subject. I need answers.

Hannah: - So. I want to ask you a question. Mind if we talk about something while we explore the building?

Meg: - Nah, it's ok. It'll be good to kill time.

Hannah: - When I talked to Lynn, she mentioned something interesting that made me curious. I think you talked about this a little bit when we were in Harry's car.

Meg: - I'm listening, Hannah. You can ask me.

As soon as we walked up the last step, we started walking down the corridor and passing next to some doors.

Hannah: - What do you know about something called the Continental Simulation Hall?

Meg: - Oh. That story about the huge, endless hall that makes people hallucinate? I know some things I've heard around, but I didn't know they created a fancy name for it. You said yesterday that it was an exaggeration, so I didn't want to dig deeper into the subject. Maybe you're right. It's just a myth.

Hannah: - I want to know anyway. Can you tell me what you know?

Approaching the third door in the corridor, Meg stopped and looked at me.

Meg: - Let's get in this room first. There's a cool thing here. I'll tell you soon.

Then she opened the door and we both walked into the room. There were some chairs and tables in the middle, some cabinets on the right, and other objects on the left. There was also a window up ahead that was brightly lit by the sun.

Hannah: - Well... It's pretty messy in here. And tight.

Meg: - There's nothing special about this room. I just wanted you to see the view from the window. Come with me.

As we approached the window, we leaned against the wall near it and watched the view. Despite all the zombies down there, the city is very beautiful seen from above and the sun makes it even more beautiful.

Hannah: - Wow. I didn't know this city was so beautiful. The buildings reflect the blue sky well.

Meg: - Sometimes I come here after lunch to watch everything outside. I like the view when it's sunny. Some say it's boring, but I don't think so.

Hannah: - I have to remind myself to value views more. They're invigorating.

Meg: - Good to know that someone here agrees with me. Harry likes it too, but he doesn't come here as much as I do. I often use this room to think a little and imagine what everything would be like if the outbreak hadn't happened. And where would I be now if my life were different.

Hannah: - I've done that so many times I've lost count. It gets a bit repetitive after a while. But it's ok to have some escapism. It's good to get distracted from the chaos every now and then.

Meg: - Especially in a reality like this.

Hannah: - Well... I never needed an apocalypse to know that fantasizing is better than living. But I agree. Creating imaginary scenarios is better than killing zombies all day.

Meg: - It's kinda funny to hear that from the volatile huntress. But I can't say I'm surprised.

After we watched the view one more time, Meg looked at me.
