Once we agreed to explore the building, Meg and I grabbed our stuff and left the kitchen. We thought about taking the elevator, but I suggested we take the stairs so we could talk about something. We were going to explore each floor anyway, so no problem.
When we started to walk up the steps, I took the opportunity to touch on the subject. I need answers.
Hannah: - So. I want to ask you a question. Mind if we talk about something while we explore the building?
Meg: - Nah, it's ok. It'll be good to kill time.
Hannah: - When I talked to Lynn, she mentioned an interesting thing that made me curious. I think you told me about this when we were in Harry's car.
Meg: - I'm listening, Hannah. You can ask me.
As soon as we walked up the last step, we started walking down the hallway and passing next to some doors.
Hannah: - What do you know about something called the Continental Simulation Hall?
Meg: - Oh. That story about the huge, endless hall that makes people hallucinate? I know some things I've heard around, but I didn't know they created a fancy name for it. You said yesterday that it was an exaggeration, so I didn't want to dig deeper into the subject. But maybe you're right. It's just a myth.
Hannah: - I want to know anyway. Can you tell me what you know?
Approaching the third door in the hallway, Meg stopped and looked at me.
Meg: - Let's get in this room first. There's a cool thing here. I'll tell you soon.
Then she opened the door and we both walked into the room. There were some chairs and tables in the middle, some cabinets on the right, and other objects on the left. There was also a window up ahead that was brightly lit by the sun.
Hannah: - Well... It's pretty messy in here. And tight.
Meg: - There's nothing special about this room. I just wanted you to see the view from the window. Come with me.
As we approached the window, we leaned against the wall near it and watched the view. Despite the zombies, the city is very beautiful seen from above and the sun makes it even more beautiful.
Hannah: - Wow. I didn't know this city was so beautiful.
Meg: - Sometimes I come here after lunch to watch everything outside. Some say it's boring, but I don't think so.
Hannah: - I have to remind myself to value views more. They're invigorating.
Meg: - Good to know that someone else here agrees with me.
After we watched the view one more time, Meg looked at me.
Meg: - Anyway. Now we can talk. First off, I have to confess that I've never heard that name before. "Continental Simulation Hall"? Since when did they create a fancy name for a myth?
Hannah: - Lynn called it that way when we talked. And how do you know it's a myth? Just yesterday all of you here believed that the volatile huntress was one. And guess what? She's living in the same shelter as you guys right now. If I exist, this Hall can exist too.
Meg: - Dammit. You have a point. But it's easier for a legendary person to exist than a magic hall.
Hannah: - That's what we'll see. Tell me what you know about it.
Meg: - Legends say it's a mysterious place completely empty that has no end, changes shape and messes with people's minds. Well, at least that's what they believe happens. This place is said to have white floors and lights that are reminiscent of a laboratory. And when I say "that has no end", I mean it's infinite. Literally.
