In front of the computer screen in the main hall, I was sitting on a chair while slowly turning it left and right repeatedly. While controlling the rotation with my feet, I rested my head on the headrest and looked up at the ceiling. The police station seemed as calm as when I got in here. Sometimes I hear the sounds of the infected in other parts of the building, but the main hall itself is extremely peaceful. I love these moments of peace and comfort while the chaos is happening outside. It feels like something from another world.

But if you think I'm just standing here doing nothing, you're very wrong. I already studied the map of the east wing of the police station when I got back and now I'm trying to unlock the gate that leads there. It takes a while for the computer to access the place's security system since it hasn't been accessed in a few years, but at least I won't need a password. I was lucky that the computer was still logged into the account of one of the employees who worked at the reception on the day of the outbreak. As long as I don't log out of it, everything will be fine. I just have to wait for the system to connect so I can do what I need to do.

And while it doesn't connect, I took the opportunity to rest a little. I never thought a chair with wheels could be so comfortable and fun at the same time. Spinning slowly is pleasant and makes me a little sleepy, so I hope I don't end up falling asleep here.

The dead body of one of the receptionists is here next to me and I chatted a little with him for the time to go by. Although he doesn't say anything, he's a good listener. Only those who have spent a lot of time alone in their lives know that anything can become great company. Especially when you need to get something off your chest.

After resting a little more, the computer made a sound and I looked at the monitor. The security system was finally available and now I could unlock the gate that leads to the east wing of the police station. The system doesn't unlock the gate immediately, but the panel that opens it. That's where the access cards I got come in.

As I pulled the chair closer to the computer, I moved the mouse to the gate icon on the monitor and clicked on the padlock symbol. With that, the gate leading to the east wing of the police station made a high-pitched sound and the panel next to it turned green. Just in case, I also unlocked a specific gate in the east wing called "Parcel Parking". I don't know where in the corridors this gate is, but the name caught my attention. Maybe that's where the delivery trucks are parked and I definitely can't leave this quarantine zone without going there.

Realizing that my work with the computer was done, I pushed my chair back and stood up. Stretching my arms up and giving myself a brief stretch, I put the chair back in place and walked around the counter.

Hannah: - Thanks for the company, buddy. - I said as I passed by the dead body. - Wish me luck.

When I approached the gate leading to the east wing of the police station, I took out a specific access card and inserted it into the panel next to it. The light that was red turned green and the gate began to open on its own. While that was happening, I turned on my flashlight and waited for it to open completely. I don't want to go in too quickly and bump into a radioactive infected or whatever is waiting for me in the darkness. The corridors in the east wing are shorter, so I hope no one in there heard all that noise. And most importantly: I hope there aren't any hordes in there like there were in the west wing of the police station.

Hannah: - Dark again. Wonderful.

Then I got in the darkness and lit up the corridor as I turned left. It was so short that I could see the end of it from here, but there was a curve to the right that I couldn't see a thing.

In front of me was a room with a double door, but both were locked. Therefore, I decided to approach the window to see what was inside. That's when I saw something that scared me more than ever.
