At the corner of the police station where the radiation ended, I took a quick look back and checked to see if any radioactive infected had followed me. Fortunately, the only sound I could hear was the radiation on the road and there was no sign of them. Since it is so, I turned around and walked away from that place.
Instead of going back the way I came, I decided to take another route to see more of the city on the way back. The street I passed had buildings similar to the ones I saw earlier, but with several neon signs on the outside walls of the buildings. During the day it's not lit up, but I bet it turns into a light show at night if the city's power is on. That Japanese neighborhood I passed before getting to the police station had neon signs like these, but there seem to be a lot more here. Am I close to the city center? Maybe it's a sign.
By the way, you can see one of the skyscrapers from here. This one has a spiral shape around it that looks like two snakes wrapped around the building and I've never seen it before. It stands out for being one of the tallest buildings in the city and for being extremely noticeable even from a great distance. What I like most about them is that each one has a unique design. I wonder how many skyscrapers there are in Celestial.
Up ahead, a good distance from here, I could see a big space that looked like a large square with several buildings around it and flashy billboards on the walls. As soon as I saw it, I knew immediately where I was going. This must be that place that looks like Times Square that Meg told me about yesterday morning. I didn't expect to find it so early, but at least now I know she was telling the truth. Even though I'm far away, I can see it with my own eyes and I have to say that it really is similar. The only differences are that it seems to be a little bigger and the buildings have more billboards.
I thought about going there to see the place more closely, but then I saw something in the middle of the road that made me leave it for another day.
A few meters away on the street, there was a patrol of Red Corporation soldiers and a small horde of virals attacking them. The fight seemed intense and the virals, although not that hard to kill, were giving them a hard time. I could try to go unnoticed or I could even go there and kill everyone since Red Corporation soldiers are merciless and won't stop until they get me, but I decided not to do anything. The day was too long and I'm too tired to deal with this. Enough for today.
There is a building to my left whose reception is surrounded by glass walls and has an exit that leads to the street on the other block. I think I can use it to get out of here without being noticed. I know that these soldiers may find me tomorrow if I don't kill them now, but at least they won't bother me today. I also know that I promised I would kill them whenever I found them to prevent them from continuing to hurt people in exchange for information about me, but I can do that another day. It's not like I'm just going to stop being who I am tomorrow morning. They probably won't give up doing what they do, but neither will I. If they don't give me a choice, and I know they won't, I won't hesitate to go with my gut.
As soon as I got in the building, I walked towards the other exit, but stopped in the middle of the reception area. The reason I stopped was because something interesting to my right caught my eye and I couldn't leave without taking a look.
On the counter was a supply package that is called an "Disaster Relief On-site Package". I know it has this name because GRE often makes it for Red Corporation. I just don't know why it's abandoned in this place.
Hannah: - Wait a minute. A GRE supply package? Here? I thought they didn't make it anymore. What's it doing abandoned in this building?
There were several dead bodies of people and zombies on the ground. It seems that there was an attack here recently and those who survived ran away.
