(The image of the chapter is a representation of what Lynn would look like)
After I got to the top floor, the first thing I saw when I got off the elevator were large office windows overlooking the city. To my right were some rooms with closed doors and a dead-end wall, so I could only go left. As soon as I got to the end of the corridor, I realized there was a left turn and an automatic light up ahead came on when it detected me. After I turned left, I continued straight ahead as I passed more closed doors until I came across a right turn. Before turning right, I saw that "HEADQUARTERS" was written in white paint on the wall in front of me and below that word there was an arrow pointing to the right in the same paint. As soon as I turned right, another automatic light came on and lit up the way. With that, I could see more closed doors in the walls and a double door at the end of the corridor. That's the only double door on this floor and the light that came on before is right above it, so that must be it.
As soon as I got to the door, I stopped in front of it and took a deep breath. It said "Meeting Room" and right below it was a piece of office paper with the words "and Lynn's Laboratory" written on it in an improvised way. I thought about knocking, since that's what a normal person would do, but then I realized I couldn't hear voices and figured Lynn might be alone in there. So I decided to just open the door and go in right away.
As soon as I opened the door, I saw a dimly lit place and a conference table with a oval shape in the middle. That space in the middle of the table was lit with a dim white light and it stood out quite a bit since the rest of the room was dark. Even though dark places are a bad sign, that single light in the middle suited the place quite well. By the way, the floor was entirely made of dark gray carpet and the place had a modern office style that perfectly demonstrates that this is the meeting room I'm looking for. Besides, the motorized curtains on the windows were closed and the place was quiet.
Upon watching the place, I closed the door from the inside and walked a little. The only sound I could hear at the moment was my footsteps.
Hannah: - Hey? Lynn? - I said while looking around. - You here?
Suddenly, a woman stood up with her back to me inside the space of the oval table. I could tell it was Lynn because of the ponytail and the white hoodie.
As she fixed something I couldn't see from here, Lynn answered without looking at me.
Lynn: - Who's asking?
Hannah: - Sorry for coming in without knocking. Meg and Harry told me you'd be here and I came because I thought you might be able to clear up some of my doubts. Do you have a second? I just want to talk.
Then Lynn turned to me and tried to identify who I was. Due to the dark, she couldn't see me properly and had to press a button on a remote. That done, the light where she was got brighter and she could see me clearly now.
Lynn: - Oh. It's you. I figured you'd come talk to me sooner or later. You really scared us down there today.
Hannah: - Yes. But it's over now. Sorry for the mess.
Lynn: - Don't worry. If it's over now, we don't need to talk about it anymore. That's in the past.
Hannah: - Alright.
Then Lynn picked up an object modified with several LED lamps on the floor and lifted it. After that, she removed one of the lamps and started to repair it.
Lynn: - So. What brings Hannah Vegas to this humble Colorado survivor shelter? - She said focused. - Is the volatile huntress tired of hunting? Is being a legend no longer fun?
