Chapter 5 - Bad Boy

Draco's Journal

A/N The song above or on the side (depending on your device) is Bad Boy by Cascada. It doesn't fit the chapter, but we (Rachel and Maverick) thought Bad Boy fit Draco. Read away...

That stupid Potter, with his ability to get away with everything. Being able to get away with hexing out my godfather, Severus Snape, a professor, protecting Sirius Black. I don't get why anyone would protect a murdering lunatic that is trying to kill him. It's so ridiculous, just like Potter.

God, Potter is so annoying with him being oh-so-full-of-himself thinking that he could do anything and defeat anybody. He's so stuck up with his special scar and his special little gang of idiots blindly following his every move! And don't get me started on how he is Dumbledore's favorite! I always make sure my father hears about it, because Potter's stupidity is the only thing we agree on...

Anyway.... off of that dreadful topic of Pot-Head and his posse of Mudbloods and Blood Traitors, I heard that Padma Patil is get— WHAT WAS THAT?! I just heard an extremely loud bang from the compartment next door... almost as if someone had... Apparated? You can't apparate into the Hogwarts Express; everyone knows that! I'll be right back, I'm going to investigate.

Max's POV (a few minutes ago)

When Dumbledore had told us we were going to 'Apparate', I thought, no big deal! We'll just start in one place and end up in another, right? NO.

He had us all grab one of his arms, and then, with an audible CRACK we set off. It felt like I was being sucked through a coffee stirrer at millions of miles per hour. There were bright flashes of color paired with loud rushing noises— think that scene in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory when they are in that boat through the tunnel.

It was the most dizzying, terrifying, sickening, trippy thing I've ever been through, and, trust me, I've been through a lot of those situations.

When we 'landed', I fell to the ground and grabbed my head just as if I had a mind attack, resisting the urge to throw up the food I had consumed in Diagon Alley. After I caught my breath, I stood up and took inventory of the situation. Angel, check, holding her kitten, Gazzy, check, Nudge, check, Iggy, check, Fang, check, Me, check (?). Unsurprisingly, Fang was the only one of the Flock standing up besides me, and he was just as stoic as ever (insert eyeroll here). He probably didn't even blink.

As I take in my surroundings— a train compartment, presumably— he crashed into the doorway, a gleam in his grey eyes, as if looking for trouble.

Max's POV (present)

"How in the name of Salazar Slytherin did you apparate in here?! And who are you, anyway?" the boy demanded haughtily, and any interest I had in him dissipated immediately.

"Oh, Professor Dumbledore... I didn't see you in here! How was your summer?" he started, a fake smile that was more of a sneer appearing on his angular face.

"My summer was excellent; I saw some rather interesting trolls in Transylvania, remind me to tell you about them some other time," Dumbledore responded with a genuine smile at the thought. "On another hand, these are the Ride siblings; they are new students to Hogwarts this year. I believe Max and Fang here are in your year, Draco."

Well, now I know the trout's name, I thought.

Maxxy, that isn't what you thought of him when he showed up.

 Angel, hush!

Just to prove a point, I strode up to Draco and held out my hand.

"Hi, Draco. My name is Max, and this is Angel, Gazzy, Nudge, Iggy, Fang," I introduce the Flock, gesturing to each one in turn.

For a moment, Draco didn't acknowledge my hand with anything other than a disdainful look on his face like he didn't think me worthy of a handshake. Hot-scale going down, down, down... Finally, he grabbed my hand and shook it, starting to say something, but I didn't hear much of it.

The moment his skin touched mine my entire arm burst into a feeling I've never felt before. Electricity shot from his touch, and I felt like I was light up like Christmas tree. I looked into his eyes, which had been narrowed but now flew open, and it was like I fell into a trance.

"Maxie poo?" Angel asked. "Are you alright?" As if she didn't know.I shook my head and quickly stepped away from Draco.

The entire Flock was giving me strange looks, and we can not forget about Professor Dumbledore's looks, as if he knows something I don't. Draco was staring at where my hand had touched his, with a look of wonder. Then he composed himself.

"Anyway, it was nice to meet you... was it Max?" he asked with a blank look on his face. I stepped away, hurt. But, why would I be hurt? All that had happened was static electricity had shocked us. That's it. That's all. Right? I mean, I don't even know him at all. But I feel like I do. Max, stop, I commanded myself.

Angel, sweetie, do you know anything about what just happened?

Maybe, maybe not. But he likes you, in ways you don't understand right now. But he like, he really, really likes you.

Angel, you creep me out sometimes.

I know. But you LOOOOOOOVVVVVVVEEEEE me.

Whatever. You know I do without me saying it. Buuuuuuuut, I'll say it anyway.

 We laugh...

 We cry...

 We make time fly...

 I love you...

 More than the sky.
