the talk
Izzy and Hyunjin walked out of the café together. Hyunjin put his hands into his pockets, ignoring the looks his and her friends were giving him. While his friends and Amy were happy he finally got up to talk to her, her friends were looking at them to make sure he wouldn't do anything stupid.
Izzy sighed, also noticing the looks. "They can't see us over there," she mumbled, pointing at the place. Hyunjin nodded, blindly following the almost head shorter girl.
"Hey," Izzy muttered once they stopped. She took another sip of her coffee, calming her mind. Why was she so nervous anyway? Wasn't she the one who said she'll try to get closer to him in the first place?
"Hey," Hyunjin smiled back at her, looking into her eyes as he stood in front of her. His sight then felt on her left arm, finally noticing the star on her wrist. How did he not notice sooner?
After the amount of times he drew her into his sketchbook he thought he'd notice something like that. But he didn't. And Chris had to tell him.
He sighed, rubbing his fingers through his hair. "Caramel macchiato?" He asked, pointing at her drink. Izzy's eyes wandered to the cup in her hands before nodding. Hyunjin nodded too, "I noticed you always get that."
Izzy bit her bottom lip, looking to the ground now. He noticed? Maybe Laska was right, and he was a creep, but for some reason, it felt nice knowing someone remembered these small details.
"Yeah, it's my favorite," she mumbled. "I don't like classic coffee."
"Good to know," he smiled. "Izzy," he started again. This time with a more serious - and somehow nervous - tone. The brunette looked up at him again, waiting for him to continue. "Would you, I don't know, ever want to hang out? Just the two of us," he asked, and she could see the sparks of hope in his eyes.
Izzy didn't answer right away. Instead, she just looked into his eyes and then on her arm, quickly reaching for a pen in her pocket. The tall male was just standing in front of her, his eyes closed as he was scolding himself for even asking.
When he didn't hear her answer he started regretting everything, hoping he was still sitting behind the table with his friends. However, his thoughts disappeared when he felt something ticklish on his arm.
He opened his eyes again, glancing at the spot. 'Yeah, I would want to hang out if you're asking me out on a date'
Hyunjin glanced at Izzy right away, seeing her awkward downward smile. A smile appeared on his face too. "You knew?" He asked, looking around as if any of their friends could somehow see them.
"I figured it out yesterday," she mumbled. "I am sorry. I really am," she blurted out quickly. "For everything. From being pissed at you for just drawing to the way I acted when I figured out you have a crush on me..."
"Just to be clear, I do not have a crush on you," Hyunjin laughed, lightening the atmosphere.
"Yeah right," Izzy scoffed. "Really though. Even for today, I was a little taken aback when I found out and didn't know what to do, but... I'm happy it's you."
"Yeah?" He teased, making her roll her eyes with a chuckle. "Okay maybe I do have a crush on you," he admitted. "And maybe, just maybe, I was a little too happy when I figured out you're my soulmate."
"I bet you were in absolute joy," Izzy teased him back. "Everyone thinks you're obsessed with me. Now that I think about it, Minho was right when he told me you're obsessed with your soulmate."
Hyunjin rolled his eyes, "whatever you say, soulmate."
Izzy's eyes widened. She was his soulmate, of course, but hearing him say it was somehow a bigger step in her eyes. She would have never thought she'd hear these words coming out from her soulmate's mouth anytime soon when she first texted him, but it was happening.
"You know I am right, soulmate," Izzy nodded, proud of herself. "Should we go back?"
While the two of them were talking, Minho had a genius plan on how to figure out who his soulmate was.
He looked at the other table, scanning through the possible love interests of his. The remaining ones that he knew could possibly be his soulmate were the three girls sitting next to Alaska and Astran.
At first, he looked at Tessa - his childhood friend - and really hoped it wasn't her. He could already see her scoffing if she could hear his thoughts.
He sighed, looking at the other two girls. Riley and Robin were so similar to each other that he wasn't sure which one of them was more likely to be texting him at 3am, telling him she's getting ramen.
Then he got the genius plan, taking out his pen again, writing on his arm.
"Why did he suddenly call me bitch??" Robin whined confusedly, making Minho chuckle. He found her. The purple head was the reason why he wasn't sleeping at night because of how ticklish it felt when she was writing on her arm.
"He did what?" Tessa asked, holding back laughter.
"Your soulmate is so weird," Alaska muttered, automatically looking at her arm. "Everyone's soulmate is weird, not gonna lie."
"Not mine, y'all stay safe though," Riley laughed. "We knew Robin's soulmate was weird, it's not a surprise."
"Yeah, but why is he calling me a bitch all of sudden?" Robin questioned. "I didn't even text him anything this time!" She whined again, wishing she could punch him. "I am going to make his life a hell," she proclaimed, scoffing.
"Go girl," Tessa laughed.
