art museum
"And...we're here," he proclaimed with a chuckle. "We both love art, so I thought this could be a great first date."
Izzy couldn't hold back her smile anymore. She was blushing, smiling, and couldn't take her eyes off of him. "You're my soulmate for a reason," she grinned, holding onto Hyunjin's hand. His eyes widened when she did so, making him lost for words. "Let's go."
Hyunjin didn't say anything, he just nodded, making her lead the way into the building. He was walking right behind her with the biggest smile, still holding her hand.
He couldn't help it and stared at her. Her brown hair was so long it was almost touching the middle of her back. He noticed that her ears were red, meaning she was blushing as much as he was.
And of course, his sight ended up on their hands. He would have never thought he would be holding hands with her, nor that he would be going on a date with her that she agreed to. But here they were; both of them smiling like little kids as they walked towards the museum.
"You didn't need to pay for me, I still have enough money to buy myself a ticket into a museum," Izzy proclaimed, making him shake his head.
"It's fine. I'll buy you an iced coffee later too."
Izzy's eyes widened right away, turning her whole body towards him with just one quick move. "I could kiss you right now."
"What?" He asked, knowing very well he heard her, and it made him blush, again.
"I won't," she chuckled. "But oh my god, I was sleeping on you so much," she laughed, making him chuckle too. Izzy began to lead the way again, taking him to the first art piece that caught her eye. "You're just...the definition of perfect," she breathed out, squeezing his hand. "Sorry," she glanced at him with a sad smile. "For sleeping on you," she added.
"It's fine," he smiled back at her, putting his right arm around her shoulder as he intertwined his fingers with hers so he could still be holding her hand somehow. He wasn't letting go of her no matter what. "It's not like it changes anything about the fact we're soulmates."
Izzy smiled when she got pulled closer to him, looking at the art piece in front of her while glancing at him. Hyunjin was doing the same, admiring the painting she took him to, and at the same time glancing at the shorter girl next to him.
They were both thinking the same thing at the moment; their soulmate looked like an art piece too. The most beautiful art they've ever seen.
"This looks amazing, what," Izzy had her mouth wide open, just staring at the art in front of her. She quickly took out her phone once again, letting go of Hyunjin's hand for a second so she could take a picture. He didn't even mind this time. He was just watching her, glad that she was happy.
She smiled again when she put her phone back into her pocket, holding his hand again as they walked to the next piece.
It went like so for hours. Neither of them would have guessed they'd spend three hours in a one-floor big museum, but it happened, and they were both getting hungry.
"Is there anywhere you want to go?" Hyunjin asked, taking out his phone to see what restaurants were around them.
"Not really," she shook her head. "Anywhere will be good."
"Then..." he started, going through the places in their area. "Oh, what about this sushi place?" He asked, showing his phone to her.
Izzy just awkwardly smiled at first, not saying anything. Then she sighed, "the truth is, I don't really like sushi," she admitted. "Sorry..."
"Okay," he nodded, taking his phone back. "It's fine, let me just find something else then," he smiled at her, showing her that there's no need to be awkward about it.
At the end, they just decided to walk around and see if anything caught their attention. And they found a place. Not even after five minutes, they were already seated down, ordering their food and drinks.
"You know I see you peeking over your phone just to look at me, right?" Izzy chuckled.
"I don't do that!" He argued. "Okay, maybe I do that," he laughed, putting down his phone. "And so what? Can't I just admire your beauty?" He tilted his head, making sure he was extra cute.
Izzy flushed red again, hiding her face behind her hands. "Cheater, you can't just turn this on me!"
He chuckled, "I am not turning anything on you. Just stating facts, soulmate."
"You're crazy," she rolled her eyes with a small chuckle.
"And you're beautiful."
"And cheesy on top of that, wow," Izzy laughed, trying to hide her blush that way. He just shrugged. "You remind me of the painting we saw today. The one full of flowers, butterflies, and sunset. Sweet, cheesy, but still perfect."
"I thought I was the teasing one here," he chuckled, knowing what painting she was referring to. He loved that piece, and she explained it perfectly. Sweet, cheesy, but still perfect.
"You reminded me of one of them too actually," he commented, catching her attention. "The one with the night sky, and stars. It was as if they put you into the painting. As if they put us into the painting," he corrected himself. "It was our story and much more."
Izzy listened carefully to everything he said and slowly started falling into his charm. He really was perfect. The way he saw things, how he looked at stuff, and how he explained them, it was all beautiful.
If someone was to ask her about when she found herself liking this boy, it would be this exact moment. Moment when they were just talking about art with each other, sharing their opinions.
Slowly, but surely, she was starting to like him back.
