Cassie

This whole mess is Mason's fault.

First when he invited me to his party I thought he wanted to make up or at least apologize. And even though I have no plans on taking him back, I wanted my apology. So I convinced the girls to go with me and witness me getting my apology.

But he didn't show up to his own party!

I also noticed Aiden was nowhere to be seen either and he is always around.

Halfway into the party, Mason had still not shown up and the girls were starting to doubt that I was going to get my apology. Then Shaw's older sister sent us video clips of Mason at club Solitaire having the time of his life with his new friends.

He invited me then ditched me so he could hang out with those peasants and losers! I mean both Kenzie and her brother were there of all people.

I was pissed off and drank more than usual. So when Brad starting hitting on me, I allowed it. Then I suggested we make out in Mason's room as payback for him not showing up. And now because of ANIMA, everyone thinks Brad and I are dating.

On the one hand I want to correct them but everyone has been congratulating me since yesterday for moving on from Mason so quickly. Brad hasn't been denying the rumor either so I will let it be for now.

I thought people would have moved on from Brad and me by now. It has been a couple of months but still we are all people can talk about.

I mean, I have allowed Brad to take me out on a couple of dates and parties since then.

It hasn't been terrible.

I think he is convinced we are a couple like everyone else.

A big part of why people haven't moved on is ANIMA. After they "exposed" us as a couple they followed it up with some gossip mag style updates of us on some dates and at parties. There have been a couple of posts about people making a fool of themselves while drunk but there hasn't been anything really captivating. Because of that people have not been able to move on from us yet.

"So are you going to change your dress for a more couple-look with Brad?" Winter asks.

"It's probably too late now. The ball is in a couple of weeks, Cassie's dress has probably arrived already." Cyn says.

The Oakwood ball is on a Saturday two weeks from now and it's been all anyone can talk about this week.

Wellington hosts an elegant ball each semester for students to celebrate the end of exams. The proceeds from ticket sales to the ball and the corresponding parents' dinner all go to charity.

"So when do we get to see your dress or has it not arrived yet?" Winter asks.

"It arrived last week. You will see it at the ball like everyone else and no I did not change it to match Brad. If there's anyone who would need to change their outfit it would be him but he doesn't even know what it looks like. But as my date for the evening he will be seeing it before you guys" I say.

"But we are not everyone else, we are your friends. Why not let us have a little peek?" Cyn says.

"I learned my lesson." I say trying very hard not to glare at them both.

Right before the Everhart ball, the end of exams ball held in the second semester, last year Cyn and Winter begged to see my dress. After begging me the whole week I gave in and let them see it three days before the ball.

It was a big mistake.

I showed up to the ball fashionably late ready to be the talk of the night only to find Winter and Cyn in dresses similar to mine. I had my dress specially designed just for me and they got someone to quickly alter theirs to look similar. I was pissed at them I didn't speak to them for the rest of night.

I had to spend the entire ball with Mason and his friends as far away from my friends as possible in case we stood next to each other and people started thinking we dressed to match on purpose.

Winter starts to open her mouth again, probably to beg again when notifications go off around the cafeteria. We all check our phones.

"The ship has completely sunk people. CASSON is no more. Both have now moved on but I must say Mason definitely downgraded. Cassie definitely won this breakup. - ANIMA"

In the picture Mason is laying half on top of Tomas, his hand under his shirt. It looks like they are in a hotel room. The lighting is not ideal but you can still tell that it's Mason and Tomas.

"Since when is Mason gay?" Winter asks.

"Is that why he broke up with you?" Cyn asks.

I can hear people at other tables asking similar questions. I have no answers for them.

I look around the room trying to spot Mason or any of his friends. All I see is Kenzie and Ava both looking at their phones surprise written all over their faces.
