Lando is putting my grandparents luggage in their room which was just a few doors away from ours. I step into the hotel room and it was perfectly neat and cold. Once Lando was about to walk into the room, my mom shoves him through the door and shuts it.
"Ok, we need a quick talk." My mom says as she drags us to the kitchen. "Firstly, (Y/n), Lando was a smart choice. 2. I'm really sorry I did this to you. Taylor is here. Your stupid cousin Tom doesn't know what happened between you and Taylor and invited him as his bestfriend. I just wanted Taylor to see that you are with someone much, much better. Lando is possibly the biggest upgrade I could see. That's why I described him completely so you were forced to pick him."
I eternally cringe at her words as I pinch the bridge of my nose. "It's fine, Mom. Really."
"Anyways, I need you guys to really act like you're in love. Tomorrow is the first day and Taylor was talking about you." My mom grabs my hands together. "I just want you to be safe."
"Whoever this Taylor is, he won't touch her." Lando says confidently.
"Thank you, Lando. I suppose you both know your aunt is sleeping here-" Mom continues speaking.
"Mom, we know what to do. Stop panicking, we've got this." I reassure her and she nods.
"Alright your aunt is gonna be here in a couple of minutes, I best be on my way." Mom says as she turns around. "Tell him about Taylor. I'd feel more comfortable if he knew."
"I'll tell him when the time comes, Mom. It's 9pm and I've been travelling for over a day. I wanna get some sleep." I grumble.
"Of course, honey." Mom smiles as she leaves the hotel room.
"Taylor?" Lando asks, confused.
"Yes. Taylor." I confirm, trying to run from the conversation.
"You don't have to tell me now, I won't push you, but if you're dragging me into this, I'd like to know what kind of creature I need to keep away from you." He continues following me to our room.
"I'll tell you before the dinner, I just don't know when exactly." I mumble as I open my suitcase and pull out my pyjamas.
"Take your time, Love." Lando says softly.
The front door of the hotel swings open and I hear a sing-song, high pitched voice squeal.
"(Y/n)!" My aunt Grace smiles happily.
"Hi, Aunt Grace." I sigh as I walk in front of her. She pinches my cheeks and smiles.
"You're so beautiful!" She kisses my forehead, and then both my cheeks leaving red lip stains there.
"Thank you. You don't look a day over 40." I mumble, rubbing my cheeks and forehead.
"That's because I'm only 32." She giggles.
I hear a deep chuckle coming from behind me and both my aunt and my gaze divert to Lando.
"Oh, he's beautiful." She smiles, walking over to Lando and inspecting him. "I didn't think you could do better than Taylor looks wise, but you definitely did."
