Daniel sighs as he climbs out the safety car. He had spun out and onto the gravel, thankfully not crashing but only grazing the bottom of his car.
"Are you alright?" I ask as I take my headphones off.
"Yeah, just a bit shocked." He answers, walking over to me and hugging me.
"The race is almost over, I have to get some stuff done for Lando." I pat his back before Heidi walks in and grabs Daniels hand, thankful he was ok.
"I keep forgetting you're his manager. Especially since he have been here for a few races." Daniel smiles lightly.
"Yeah, it feels good to be back." I smile back at him before waving to him and Heidi and walking away, upstairs to where Olivia was staying with a few colleagues of Landos.
"Hi, (Y/n)!" Olivia waves like a little child as she watches the screen, looking at Lando race.
Lando and I had warned Olivia that she can't call me her mom in front of the public. Mclaren knew that Lando was her non-biological father, but it was only them who knew. We want to keep our relationship completely private until we're ready.
"Hey, Liv. Are you enjoying yourself?" I ask.
"Yeah! When I'm older, I want to race like daddy and be just as good as him!" She points at the screen.
"I'm sure you'll be even better than him." I smile, hugging her. "Don't leave, okay? The race finished, I just have to go to the podium and help Lando with his interviews." I tell the mclaren crew that were sitting with Olivia. They all nod as I leave.
I grab my clipboard from my desk and check Landos schedule. He didn't have much today. Just a video needed by McLaren for him to post on social media. Lando had come second today, after max. That meant that the last race of the season in Abu Dhabi would be a fight, Max was only 5 points behind Lando.
I jog over to where all the crew was standing to congratulate Lando on the podium. Lando clambered out his car and walked towards the team, hugging each and every one of them as they pat him on the back, congratulating him.
"Congrats, you idiot." I smile as I hug him tightly. He smiles at me brightly through his helmet as I pat the side of his head.
"See you on the podium, baby." He whispers in the quietest voice, not letting anyone hear. Before I could answer, he runs off to the cooldown room after pulling off his helmet.
I sigh as we all migrate towards the podium. Lando and I decided not to bring Olivia to the podium since it really, really crowded down here.
The podium begins, and everyone cheers loudly when Lando holds up the trophy in the air, showing it off. I clap my hands happily, watching him get sprayed by Max directly in the face.
The podium ends and I walk Lando to his interview area. I feel his arm grab my waist and pull me into an area that was blocked off by walls, and he shuts the door before kissing me deeply.
"I'm sorry. I had to." He breathes.
"And you also have to get back to your interview or you're going to be late." I say with a straight face, opening the door and shoving him out.
"I'm never forgiving you for this." Lando growls as he slumps his down the hall.
"Alright, you go do your interview and I'll go grab Olivia. I can tell you're exhausted. We'll go right back to the hotel once this interview is over." I tell him, patting his shoulder.
