Today was the last day on trial. It's hard, seeing Taylor, hearing what he did to me, reliving my past with him all over again. But today I felt at ease.

Lando was beside me as everyone filed into the room. Mom, Dad and Daniel sat to my left as Lando sat on my right, wearing a basic suit. I saw his jaw twitch as he watches Taylor walk into the courtroom in handcuffs, a devious smile plastered on his face as he watches me while sitting down. I inhale sharply before quickly diverting my gaze to the front.

Lando's fingers graze my thigh as he draws his hand back and forth in a comforting manner. "It's okay. After today, he'll be gone."

"I hope." I mumble.

"Hey, if he isn't locked up after this I will spend millions to get his ass behind bars." Lando says with no hesitation.

"You will do no such thing." I say through gritted teeth.

"Wanna bet?" He whispers, leaning into my shoulder with a smirk.

"Bug off, Norris." I grumble.

He smiles before retracting his hand when the Judge walks in. The second the Judge walks in, cameras turn on, so that's probably why he took his hand away.

The trial goes on for an hour before pictures are held up by the judge as she speaks. My neck twitches slightly and Lando grips onto my hand.

"If we weren't in a courtroom I would've blown his jaw out by now." Lando sneers in a low voice.

"Same." I say simply, making Lando smile but try to hide it.

Another hour goes by before the Judge starts to give her final verdict. Lando's hand tightens around mine as I squeeze back, silently praying that Taylor gets what he deserves. I glance over at Taylor, he was already looking at me. The smile on his face showing no remorse as if he thinks nothing will happen to him. This sets me off edge and my breath starts to tremble.

"Hey." My mom says as she puts a hand on my back. "Breathe baby. It's ok." She whispers, rubbing her hand up and down. I feel calm with my moms hand on my back and Landos hand holding onto mine, resting in my lap. It feels weird, seeing as though Lando and I aren't even together anymore, but we can't seem to stay away from each other. I need his touch to calm me down and he needs mine to reassure himself that I'm okay.

"My final verdict is:" The Judge starts as she pulls out a stack of papers, flipping through them. "7 years in jail with no possibility of parole for 1 count of rape, 10 years prison time for many, many counts sexual assault." The judge says with disgust written all over her face. This time, Taylors face was pale, no smile at all. "40 years in prison for 2 counts of attempted murder. In total, Taylor Wilson is sentenced to 57 years in prison without the possibility of parole. That is my final verdict, any objections will be overruled." Her voice was firm as I feel myself sink in my chair, calming down. It was over and Taylor was gone.

My mom hugs me tight as everyone starts to get up. I inhale and exhale heavily, keeping the tears out the way.

"I seriously need to go thank this Judge." She whimpers as she wipes away her tears, standing up.

My dad takes this chance to hug me tightly, kissing the top of my head. "I love you. I'm sorry I couldn't have stopped him earlier."

"It's not your fault. I'm okay and Taylors gone. Everything is good." I reassure him and he smiles before following my mom towards the judge.

Daniel pounces on me and gives me the biggest bear hug ever. "Love you sis." He ruffles my hair. "They better take that Taylor away before I fucking break his neck." Daniel says as he glares at Taylor, who was being dragged out the courtroom, before walking away towards Mom and Dad.

I let out a sigh of relief before feeling arms wrap around my waist form behind me. "Happy?" Lando asks as he rests his chin on my shoulder.

I spin around and hug him tightly. "Couldn't be happier." I smile. "Anyways, gotta get back to work now. Kinda bummed." I whine as Lando and I make our way towards my parents.

"But you're working with me." Lando says.

"Even worse." I say, scrunching my nose. "Who wants to work with their ex?"

Lando goes silent for a second before nodding. "Fairs."

I couldn't help but feel like I saw a wave of hurt flash across his face, but he tried to hide it. The rest of the day he acted weird. He'd be distant, usually he'd sit in between Daniel and I on the dinner table but this time he insisted that Daniel sit in the middle. Then, the family decided to watch a movie after dinner, and if we were ever having a movie night, even when Lando and I weren't dating and hated each other, we'd have designated seats. Mom and Dad share a beanbag on the right of the TV, Daniel had his own bean bag on the left and Lando and I would both have the smaller beanbags that were right in front of the couch, right in front of the TV as well. But this time, he decided to sit where Daniel usually sits. This is so weird.

I tried to push it away but it kept bugging me. Near midnight, everyone decided to go to bed and Lando offered to take the trash out. I had made up my mind that I was going to talk to him then and there.
