As the message was sent, Bakugou's heart raced with a mixture of emotions. He knew he had to address the feelings that had been building up inside him during his time away, but actually confronting them was a different matter altogether. He placed his phone on the bedside table and took a deep breath, trying to steady his nerves.
Meanwhile, Izuku stared at his phone, the message from Bakugou glowing on the screen. His heart pounded in his chest, a strange mix of excitement and apprehension. He had been trying to sort out his own feelings during the past weeks, and he knew he couldn't keep avoiding this conversation any longer.
Izuku's mind flashed back to that night before Bakugou went to rehab. The unexpected kiss had caught them both off guard, and the intensity of their emotions had left Izuku feeling utterly confused. He had been with Ochako for a long time, and he never thought he would be capable of cheating on her. But something about that moment with Bakugou had stirred up emotions he couldn't easily dismiss.
Taking a deep breath, Izuku typed out a reply. "Hey," he began, his fingers hovering over the keys for a moment before he continued. "I think you're right. We need to talk."
Bakugou's heart skipped a beat as he saw the reply. He quickly typed back, "Meet me at the park near our old training grounds. Half an hour?"
Izuku nodded to himself, his heart racing even faster now. "Sure, I'll be there."
The park was bathed in the soft hues of twilight as Bakugou leaned against a tree, waiting for Izuku's arrival. His mind was a whirlwind of emotions, and he couldn't help but replay the memories of that night and the days leading up to his departure for rehab.
Izuku walked towards the park, his steps heavy with the weight of the conversation he was about to have. He had broken up with Ochako, confessed his mistake, and faced the consequences of his actions. But now, facing Bakugou was an entirely different challenge.
As Izuku approached the park, he saw Bakugou standing by a tree, his usually confident posture replaced with a sense of vulnerability that Izuku had rarely seen. Taking a deep breath, Izuku walked up to him.
"Hey," Bakugou greeted, his voice slightly tense.
"Hey," Izuku replied, his own voice betraying his nerves. They stood there for a moment, the tension between them palpable.
Bakugou finally spoke, his tone a mix of frustration and vulnerability. "Look, Deku, I don't know what the hell happened between us that night before I left, but it's been eating at me since then."
Izuku nodded, his gaze locked on the ground. "I know. It's been eating at me too."
Bakugou sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I've been trying to figure out what the fuck I'm feeling. I've never been good at this shit."
Izuku looked up, meeting Bakugou's eyes. "Me neither. But I can't ignore it anymore. I can't pretend that kiss didn't mean anything."
Bakugou's expression softened, a hint of relief in his eyes. "You too?"
Izuku nodded. "Yeah. But, Bakugou, there's something you should know."
Bakugou raised an eyebrow, a mixture of curiosity and caution in his expression. "What?"
Izuku took a deep breath, bracing himself for Bakugou's reaction. "I broke up with Ochako. I told her the truth about that night, about the kiss. I can't be with her if I have feelings for someone else."
Bakugou's eyes widened in surprise, and then understanding seemed to dawn on him. "Wait, you mean..."
Izuku nodded, his heart pounding in his chest. "I cheated on her with you, Bakugou. And I've been struggling to come to terms with that ever since."
