That night, Kirishima and Bakugou had broken up for good. Bakugou moved out of the apartment a few weeks later, deciding it was for the best. He hadn't seen Deku in those few weeks, and they had texted very occasionally.

They'd run into each other on campus every so often, but exchanged little words. But today? Today, Bakugou had decided enough time had gone by. He was sick of waiting, he and Kirishima were over and he knew who he wanted.

Taking out his phone, he pulled up Deku's contact.

Bakugou: Hey, you free?

Waiting for the response felt agonizing, he just wanted to run to him, grab him, and tell him that it was him and it had always been him. As he sat on his couch, in his small studio apartment, his thoughts were absolutely captivated by Izuku Midoriya, like they had been since the night Deku kissed him for the first time. Kirishima had been his partner for two years but it had never felt as right as he felt when he was with Deku. It's no wonder that he would always run to the comfort of Deku when he and Kiri had fought in the past.

Deku knew him, in a way that no one else did. He could tell exactly how he was feeling before Bakugou could even try to explain it. It was something so special but something he had swept under the rug for so long.

He felt his phone ding.

Izuku: hey, will be in like 10 mins.

Bakugou's thumbs hesitated over the keyboard,

Bakugou: meet me by the river spot?

Deku liked his message and Bakugou took that as a yes. He got up and headed towards the designated location. Ten minutes felt like ten hours waiting for Deku to appear over the horizon, but when he did, Bakugou felt his stomach butterfly.

"Hey," Bakugou said.

"Hi," Deku smiled slightly.

There was a moment of awkward silence, "...I haven't really heard from you." Bakugou said eventually, breaking the silence.

"Yeah- just been busy," Deku chuckled lightly, "...you doing okay?"

Bakugou stayed quiet for a moment, because yeah actually for the first time in a long time, he was doing okay. But, the only thing missing from the equation was him.

"Yeah, yeah I am actually." Bakugou pulled a half smile.

Deku smiled back, "That's great to hear."

Bakugou sighed and looked at Deku, "So, I've done a lot of thinking..."

"Yeah?" Deku glanced at him, searching for an inclination of what he had been thinking about.

Bakugou looked over, smiling at the familiar freckled face that had been etched into the wiring of his brain, "...Izuku, I broke things off with Kirishima for good. Over 2 months ago now... and the only thing that I haven't been able to stop thinking about is you."

Bakugou's heart raced as he watched the tears well up in Izuku's eyes, panic briefly seizing him. "Deku, shit, did I say something wrong?"

Izuku's voice was shaky as he wiped away the tears with the back of his hand. "No, Kacchan, you didn't. They're good tears. I've been hoping you would say something like this for so long now."

Relief washed over Bakugou, and a smile spread across his face. He reached out, gently wiping away the remaining tears from Izuku's cheeks. "You have?"

Izuku nodded, his gaze unwavering. "Yeah, Kacchan. You know I've had feelings for you for a while now, but I didn't want to push you into anything. I wanted you to figure things out on your own."

Bakugou's smile widened, and he couldn't help but chuckle softly. "Well, it took me long enough, huh?"

Izuku laughed too, the sound pure and filled with warmth. "Yeah, it did. But I'm really glad you did."

Bakugou leaned in, capturing Izuku's lips in a gentle but meaningful kiss. It was a kiss filled with the promise of something new, something they had both been silently yearning for.

As they pulled away, Bakugou whispered, "Izuku, I want to be with you."

Izuku's eyes sparkled with emotion as he nodded. "I want that too, Kacchan."

In the weeks that followed, Bakugou and Izuku took their time mending relationships with their friends. Apologies were made, forgiveness was given, and slowly, the group began to heal.

Kirishima and Ashido found comfort in each other's company, and it wasn't long before they started dating. The two of them shared laughter, support, and an understanding of each other's quirks that brought them closer than ever before.

Bakugou and Izuku's love story continued to blossom. They faced the challenges of their past head-on and emerged stronger, their bond deepening with every shared moment. Their friends, knowing the turbulent journey they had been through, offered their unwavering support.

In the end, everyone found their own version of a happy ending. Life moved forward, filled with the promise of new adventures, challenges, and the enduring strength of friendship and love.
