CHAPTER 5

          A week of just you and me texting went by, and on one night, you finally came to my house to have dinner. It was around 8pm and you were already standing outside of my house. I can see you getting nervous. I was also the same, nervous as if I could faint on the spot. Ashley was behind me, standing there with all 5 of my cats surrounding her, a half smile blooming from her face. "He's here isn't he??" Ashley asked and also peeked through the window. "Wait!! Wait-what??? That is your boyfriend??? Gosh he is one gorgeous guy. Oh! and just look at those eyes. Damn, you got a good-looking boyfriend sis! I'm impressed!" Ash said. I look at her with a smirk. "See, I can get a good boyfriend. When are you going to get one?" I teased. "Sis, I'm 14. What on earth were you doing when you were 14??? Wait don't answer. I already know it. Reading a crap ton of love novels!" Ashley answered. I made a poker face. 'Man, I have a terrible little sister' I thought to myself.

          I peeked again and saw you ringing the doorbell. Without wasting any second, I quickly opened the door. "Oh! Hai! You're here!" I said. I saw Ashley hit her forehead with her hand. Yeah, I know, that was awkward. "Oh yes! Can I come in??" You asked while standing in front of the door now. "Oh! of course, come in" I said politely. As you entered the house, Ashley pushed me away. "Hello Ray's boyfriend! I'm Ashley, her younger sister but you can call me Ash. I'm 14 years old and I love sports, science and insects! The complete opposite of your girlfriend over here!" Ashley said while sticking her hand out to greet him. "Well hello there Ash, nice to meet you. I've heard about you before. You look like a very interesting person to get to know" you replied and shook Ashley's hand. "Yeah, I get that a lot" Ashley said. "Wait, so you take pure science class??? Cause I also take pure science!" You explained. 'Great, down the rabbit hole of science we go' I thought.

          "No way! So, you can teach me physics and math??" Ashely gasped. "Yeah! sure no problem." You told her. "Oh my goodness, Ray! Marry this man right now!! Not only is he good-looking but he is also smart!!!" Ashley shouted at my face. I smiled thin. "Yeah, I know" I replied without realizing. I saw you smiling at us and suddenly I heard my mom's voice. "Dear, is he here??" Mom asked. "Yes, yes he is" I replied. "Oh! okay, just a second. We're coming!!" Mom and dad said. Your calm, smiling face suddenly got nervous again. I held your hand. "Don't worry, they're good people" I ensured you. You smiled, "I know". Mom and dad arrived at the living room and they both got to know you. "Well then hello little boy. First of all, I would like to thank you for actually being able to accept my daughter as your girlfriend, very appreciated" my dad said. "Yes, thank you very much for also being able to come over tonight dear!" Mom continued. "Well, the pleasures mine" you replied. My parents smiled and took you to the kitchen. Over there, you sat in between my mom and dad my while I sat next to Ashley.

          "I feel bad for him" Ashley said in a whisper-like tone. "Yeah, I feel bad too, but guess he has to get used to it" I said and shrugged. "Mom and dad are sure pros at making awkward situations" Ashley continued. "Yeah, you don't say" I replied and took a sip of hot mocha. Coffee sure is a great way to make me relax. "So, what do you think of my socially awkward daughter?? What was your first impression of her??" Dad asked and broke the silence. "Oh! umm" you remained silent and bit you lips as a sign of nervousness and looked at my dad again. "Mr Evans, at first, I really did saw a socially awkward, introvert person inside of your daughter. Even now, she is an introvert. No denying that!" Ashley grinned while hearing those words come out of your mouth. I ignored her. "But I have to admit, my first impression of her when we both met for the first time personally, I thought that she was the bravest person I have ever met. And even now, the more I get to know her, the more I like her, the more attracted I am to her. Mr. Evans, I must say, you have a very outstanding daughter" you continued.

          At that time, I saw dad's jaw drop while Ashley immediately hit her elbow towards me gently, perhaps she was impressed. Mom was also shocked when hearing that. Dude, you just turned my whole family into stone. It took a while before you suddenly realized it. "Eh! Did I say something weird?" You blushed. It was a very embarrassing moment for both of us. But I can't help but notice your ocean eyes gleaming despite the embarrassment. It shone like never before. I smiled. My whole family just laughed it off. Dinner that night was perfect. After dinner, I walked you out of the house. You looked at me and smiled. "Thanks a lot for tonight, the food was delicious. It sure has been a while since I tasted homemade food" you said slowly. I looked at you. Your eyes were getting teary. "Aww, please don't be like this-" before I could finish comforting you, tears suddenly start running down your face. I understand, with your family conflict going on, of course you wouldn't be able to taste homemade food.
