"Alright! That settles it then! He's lucky that it's you and not me otherwise we'll be visiting him at this hospital too next week" Ashley joked. "Ash!" Rachel scolded. "What? It's true. It's what he deserves for keeping secrets away from you" Ashley reasoned. Rachel really didn't feel like having this debate with Ashley because on one hand, she's absolutely correct but on the other hand, that's just not a nice thing in general. At the end Rachel only sighed. "Whatever you say Ash, but I'll definitely message him tomorrow when we're back at home. I just don't feel comfortable having a chat with him while I'm still under these circumstances" Rachel explained. Ashley nodded in agreement; it would really be for the better if they talk to Arthur after Rachel has discharged from the hospital.
After a while, mom finally came back with a nurse following behind her, bringing food for Rachel's dinner. Rachel kindly asked the nurse to leave the food on the table next to her bed, in which the nurse did before leaving and telling Rachel's mom to simply put the food outside of the room once Rachel has finished eating. Mom could only nod as a response. Ashley and mom didn't talk much while Rachel ate as to not disturb her eating experience. After around 15 minutes, Rachel finally finished eating and mom quickly took the food tray and placed it outside the room. Rachel decided to wash down all the food she ate with the apple juice Ashley and mom had bought for her.
Afterwards, mom approached Rachel and asked, "Are you feeling better sweetheart? You need to rest well otherwise I'm worried the doctor wouldn't allow you to leave yet tomorrow". Rachel gave her mom a thin smile before answering, "Yes mom, I'm feeling much better. Dare I say, I feel good as new. Honestly I'm not really that tired or anything so nothing to be worried about". Her mom could only let out a relieved exhale before telling Ashley that she wanted to sleep now. "Wait mom, you're going to sleep, like, right now?" Ashley asked as she stared at her mom who was beginning to lay down a huge carpet on the floor that would fit for the both of them to sleep on. "Yes, I'm sleepy, aren't you Ash?" Mom asked. Ashley couldn't give her mom an answered as she suddenly started to yawn. Her mom chuckled and said that her yawn was indeed already an answer. Ashley looked at Rachel as she was also starting to get comfortable on her bed. Feeling an extreme wave of exhaustion wash over her, Ashley also told Rachel to get some sleep before she finally decided to lay down next to her mom and the three of them feel sound asleep that night.
The next day, the doctor came to check up on Rachel's condition one more time before determining that she had indeed fully recover and can be discharged. Ashley and mom both let out a sigh of relief before quickly giving Rachel a hug. Rachel could only give the doctor a shy smile as the doctor grinned upon seeing her family's reaction. The doctor also gave Rachel a short lecture to take care of herself more and to value her life more than anything else. The doctor also gave Rachel a reminder that there is no one in this world who is worth her life other than herself. Personally, Rachel would want to argue that her parents and Ashley would be worth sacrificing her life for but she remained silent and only nodded at anything the doctor said in fear of pissing him off.
After around 5 minutes, all of them gathered at the entrance door of the hospital waiting for dad to come and pick them up. Some people were starting to stare at them for some reason which was really annoying. It felt uncomfortable as if they were being judged for being at the hospital. Why? Was it because none of them looked sick? People should really just mind their own business. Before Ashley could complain about the stares they were getting, a car that seemed familiar to them suddenly parked in front of them. Of course, it was none other than dad himself. Dad hurriedly got out of the car to help mom place the belongings they brought to the hospital in the trunk. Ashely and Rachel on the other hand quietly made their way to the back seat. The both of them waited patiently for their parents to finish up. After about 2 minutes, their parents got in the car and the entire Evans family was on their way to go back home.
