Losing You (a.banks x y/n)

Chapter 5

When the alarm goes off, I get up right away. I don't know whether it was nerves or excitement that got me up quickly but whatever it was, I'm thankful for it.

I make myself a smoothie and put it in the fridge so I can take it with me to school. I grab and apple and quickly cut it up. I put it in a bowl and take it into my bedroom with me. I grab the outfit that me and Adam picked out yesterday and set it on my bed. I change and head into the bathroom to do my hair and put on some makeup. I decide to curl my hair and I give it some loose curls. I set the curler down and grab my mascara. I apply that, then grab my lip gloss. I put some on then put it in my pocket to take with me.

I walk back into my room and spray some perfume all over me, then some on my bag. I look at the time, 7:33am. School starts at 8:30am, but we have to be at the school at 8:20am for the assembly. I look over at my desk and see the box. I walk over and open it. I look carefully at the watch before taking it out and putting it on. I make sure it's set to the right time and I grab my bag and head out to the kitchen. I set my bag on a chair. I have a little time so I decide to have my own little concert in the kitchen while I grab my lunch and put it into my book bag. Dancing my way back to the fridge, I grab my water bottle and smoothie and set them out on the counter.

When the clock reads 7:50am, I decide I might as well begin my journey to school. I put my shoes on first, tying them. I grab the piece of paper on the counter that gives me my schedule and my locker number and combo and put it in my pocket. I grab my bag, look through it once more to make sure I have everything. I grab my keys and put them in my pocket. I slip my wallet into the front pocket of my bag. I grab my water bottle and smoothie and head out the door. I lock it and head down the stairs.

I set my bag on my passenger seat and put my smoothie in one of my cup holders. I grab my keys and start the car.

I take my time driving to the school, which was relaxing. I pull into the school parking lot and park, I look at the time 8:11am. I grab my bag and smoothie and head into the school. There were teachers and staff standing ushering students into the auditorium for the assembly. I go to find my locker quickly first, which is easy enough. I set everything inside and I turn to make my way towards the auditorium. On my way, Ted spots me and walks over.

"Hey y/n, you excited for the first day of school?" He walks with me to the gym, which I sort of found weird but shrugged it off.

"Yeah, mostly nervous tho." I reply, and he nods.

"I need you to tell the ducks that you guys are in locker room 3, not 2. It was a typo, and I don't want to track each one of you down."

"Yeah for sure Ted, I mean Coach Orion." I fix my mistake, and he smiles and thanks me before leaving me in front of the auditorium doors. I walk in and look around. I spot Julie waving me over and I walk down and sit in the empty seat between her and Dwayne.

"Goodmorning y/n." Dwayne greets with a smile as I sit down.

"Morning Dwayne, you ready for school?" I ask and he takes a breath.

"Yeah. I sure hope it's easier than catching hogs, I sure am sore from that this summer." He replies and I laugh at his response.

Me and Julie are in conversation when a voice pipes up.

"My brother lost his spot on jv due to you low lives." I turn around to look at who was speaking, to see a whole bunch of boys in letterman jackets. I take a glance at each one, before putting a disgusted look on my face.

"He probably wasn't good enough anyways." Julie retorts quickly, and me and Dwayne sort of snort chuckle. 

The Dean saves us by walking out on stage and he starts his long babble about the school. I'm listening to the Dean when that same voice is heard
