Monday rolls around to fast. I sit in French, counting down the minutes till lunch. I'm only half paying attention to the teacher while he explains the new assignment. He hands out sheets and gets back to the front of the class when the bell rings. I grab my stuff and head out of the classroom. I put my stuff into my locker and grab my lunch, and walk to the cafeteria.

"Hey, y/n!" Somebody yells, and I turn around. "I'm Scooter, I play on the varsity team. There's a party this weekend at my house, a school year kick off. You're invited. You can invite the ducks to come as well. I hope to see you there." Scooter rambles.

"Yeah okay, I'll tell the ducks. I'm gonna need your address." I ask, and he takes out a pink paper out of his pocket.

"That's the place, time and date." He hands it to me and I look it over.

"Thanks scooter!" I say and I turn around again and walk into the cafeteria. I never noticed how much Scooter looks like Gunnar, and talking to him now just reminded me so much of Gunnar.

"Hey guys!" I say, as I sit down at the table. "We are all invited to a party this weekend."

"Really?" Averman exclaims, and I chuckle.

"Yeah, scooter and I just talked about it." I reply, but I don't notice the look on Adams face when I say that me and scooter talked. "It's Saturday, his place and we are to arrive after 9pm." I read off the paper he had given me.

"Are you going?" Julie asks, and I shrug.

"I'm thinking about it. It might be a way to get to know some of them, and maybe they wouldn't hate us that much." I reply. We all dive into little conversations amongst the people at the table and when the bell rings, we all get up. I go to say something to Adam, but he rushes off before I can. I get confused but just brush it off.

He says minimal things to me all afternoon in our classes, so I know I must've pissed him off in some way. I think back to the start of the day, and work my way up till now. I get to my conversation with Scooter and decide it must be that. I get why he'd be a little mad, but to ignore me?

We get changed for practice and go out onto the ice.

"Adam." I say, and I grab his arm and turn him towards me. "Look, if I pissed you off by talking to Scooter about a party, you could've told me, rather than ignore me all day. Grow up Adam, it was one conversation." And I don't even stay to hear his response, I skate away towards Connie and Julie, and we start our stretches.

I was fired up all practice. I was second fastest, after Luis, and I barely missed a shot into the net. Orion makes us scrimmage, and I fight hard for the puck the whole time and so does Charlie. Charlie has to prove he's Captain material. I pass the puck to Charlie and he scores on Goldberg. Even though it's scrimmage and I'm not on his team, I go fist bump Goldberg and tell him why Charlie got that in the way he did, and showed him how to change it. Without my knowledge, Orion put a star beside my name on his personal sheet and then called out another order.

I get changed as quickly as I can, so I can make it to my appointment with Mrs Smith. Orion walks in, and put the sheet up with what position we are. Connie and Adam walk up and look.

"Bombay, I want to see you before your appointment." Orion says, and I nod my head.

"I'm not on here?" Adam states, but Connie quickly points his name out.

"No Adam, right here. Wait, Adam you made Varsity?" 'What? Adam made varsity? What the fuck.'

"I made varsity?" Adam numbly says, and walk back to his locker. I walk up to the list and find my name. After I read what position Orion gave me, I walk back to my locker and grab my water bottle and head out.

I knock on Teds door and I hear him shout come in. I open the door walk in and close it behind me before having a seat.

"You wanted to see me?"

"Yes. So you obviously saw that Banks made Varsity, and while I think you would do great on varsity too, I want you to stay on JV and I'm considering making you captain." I freeze. 'Charlie would never forgive me if I took that away from him.'

"Coach if I may. I want you to wait before you make a decision about Captain, at least til l after our game tomorrow. I swear, Charlie is good captain." I plead. He sighs before he speaks.

"I'll wait, but if he doesn't show it tomorrow, I'm announcing you captain on Wednesday at practice." I nod before leaving his office and heading down the hall to Mrs Smith.

30 minutes later, I'm walking into the library to finish my speech before I present it on Wednesday. I sit myself down at table that's not near anybody and I get to work. I lay everything out, and start writing my speech on flash cards. I'm in the middle of writing when somebody sits down beside me. I look up to see Mindy.

"Hi Mindy, what do you want." I say annoyed.

"I'm just here to see if you've broken up with Adam yet, I mean it's bound to happen." My fist is bound to meet your face soon.' Her minions sort of circle the table.

"Well, Mindy, we haven't broken up yet, and we won't." I reply, with a sweet smile on my face.

"Well, I just don't understand why he's with somebody like you. I mean, he's way out of your league. You're not even pretty, and let's face it, you're a little chubby." I try my best not to let my smile drop, even though what Mindy is saying is hurting a bit. "You must be really good in bed or something for him to stay with you."

"Mhm, bye Mindy." I try to stand up, but 2 of her minions sit me back down.

"Oh y/n, you can't get rid of me. I'm not going away," and she leans over the table and grabs my arm and starts to dig her nails into my skin. "Not until Adam is mine, and he will be, it's up to you whether you make it easy or hard." She lets go of my arm, and she smiles. "Toodles." She and her minions leave, and I look down at my arm. She cut the skin and it's starting to bleed a bit. I look around and the gather my stuff and leave.

'I need to make up with Adam, before Mindy does wiggle her way in between us.' I think to myself, 'but something tells me that she's isn't joking, and she really won't stop until she has him.'
