As the day becomes dark, Lance and the knights head back to the castle grounds to hit the sack. However, Lance wasn't tired yet as he wanted to stay up late to have fun. But Shelia and the others were after doing many activities together during the evening."Lance. It's time you go to bed." Shelia says as she tosses him into his hammock.
"But I'm not tired yet." He says as sits up.
"Well, I'm tired runt, everyone else is tired. How are you not tired?" She jokingly asked.
"Still have the energy to play another game outside or play chess." Lance explains.
"You don't even know how to play chess."
"Lindsey says it's fun." He added.
"Runt. Can you please go to bed?" She asks calmly.
"Well, may I have some warm honey-milk before bed?" He kindly asks.
"Fine..." Shelia says as she leaves the room for a sec.
Shelia headed to the kitchen and dispenses some milk from a barrel into a wooden mug and started mixing some honey with it and headed back to Lance's room.
She gave the drink to him and Lance started gulping it down by the sweet flavor. He hiccups a few times and then he starts to feel sleepy already.
"You want to stay up now?" Shelia asks.
"No... maybe sleep is important." Lance says as he lays down in his hammock.
"That's what I thought, runt." Shelia says as she places the blankets over him.
"Night." Lance says as he closes his eyes and turns on his side.
"Night, Lance." Shelia says as she blows out the candle before leaving the room.
"Goddamn, what a day." Shelia says as she puts her armor and her battle ax away on the display stand before she sits down on her bed.
She was in deep thought as she thought about the coexistence treaty that is going to happen soon. She was unsure about trusting humans still even though she loved Lance as her own. He was the reason that made her change her opinion about them a little. But she knows it's for the best that no matter what they are, everyone has feelings. She lays down on the bed and falls into a deep sleep after she blows out the candle on her nightstand.
As it was midnight, Clyde was able to climb over the castle wall that wasn't guarded well. He hid behind some bushes as a Tiger knight passed by. He aimed his crossbow and pulled the trigger. The bolt went into the knight's head and an instant thud sounded.
Clyde hurries out of the bushes and moves the body into a secluded area and sneaks into a side door of the castle. There were hardly any guards around since most of them were asleep for the night, but there were still a few to protect the nobles and the empress for the night. He went up the steps and headed to the royalty wing to find Lola's bedroom.
Meanwhile...
The power of the magical stone started to glow inside Lance which made him wake up from his sleep. He was confused at first of why the magical stone started to awaken. Since he knows that if the stone is active, something is wrong. He climbed out of his hammock, put on his armor and sword and left the knight quarters of the castle.
It was quiet, but nothing unusual as he started walking around and passed by a few knights.
"What are you doing up this late, kid?" A cat knight asked.
"Just checking and seeing if everything is alright." Lance answers.
"Don't stay up too late or make Captain Shelia worry." The cat knight says before he starts walking down the hallway.
