During the beginning of the day, Lance was with Shelia as they patrol the village for the day. He yawned a little since he had to get up early at dawn.
"Get used to it, runt. When you have to be with me, we get up early to keep the law around here." Shelia says as she drinks some coffee.
"Can we go eat?" Lance asked.
"Why are you always hungry? She asked while she raised an eyebrow.
"I haven't had breakfast yet. And Lucinda said it's the important meal of the day." Lance explains.
"You are killing me, runt. I guess we should grab a bite, nothing is happening right now." Shelia says as they head to a market stand.
Later on, They sat down on an outside table as Lance was devouring down on a big piece of mutton with a bone sticking out while Shelia was eating some steak while drinking some wine from her goblet.
"Can you eat all that?" She asked.
"Yes. It's good." Lance says as tries to eat all of it.
"Slow down or you'll choke." Shelia warns.
Lance did so as he continued to eat. Shelia then noticed a couple of hooded figures from a distance but they vanished fast in the crowd. She brushed it off and her eyes widened as Lance finished his food. He hiccups a few times as grease was all over his mouth and cheeks.
"Jesus. Hold still." Shelia says as she grabs a rag and starts cleaning his face.
After breakfast, they stay positioned at the center fountain keeping watch for any unusual or criminal activity. Lance was bored out of his mind while he played Jacks to pass the time.

He bounces the ball while he tries to catch the jacks. Shelia sits on the fountain as she meditates. She noticed the same couple of hooded figures from a distance, but vanished.
"You okay?" Lance asked.
"I'm fine, runt." Shelia answers.
After a few hours, they headed back to the knight quarters just to drop off Lance to the others since she had an omen feeling something was wrong that she didn't want to put him in danger.
"It's okay Shelia. Just go." Tina says
Shelia left to continue her patrolling duty, leaving Lance confused as to why she wanted him to stop helping her on the patrol early.
"Is it something I did wrong?" He asked while a little upset.
"No honey. It's just that she was suspicious about something that she just didn't want to put you in danger again." Tina explains as she carries him to his room.
"I just wanted her to be proud. Why is she always grouchy?" He asked while he's a little upset.
"She's always like that since she is stressed and has many responsibilities of being Captain of the knights. She just doesn't want you to get hurt since she has been seeing things. Just understand honey." Tina explains as she places him in his hammock.
"Why don't you nap for a bit since you got up early. Sleep is important." She added before she leaves the room.
Lance took his helmet off while he naps for a bit.
Meanwhile...
Somewhere in the village, Lance's parents were able to blend in to avoid getting caught or being humans as they were in disguises. Since they were good taxidermists, they were able to wear realistic masks of a wolf with real fur, fake ears under their hoods, fur gloves to clover their hands, and used some cologne and perfume to hide their human scent.
"Our ungrateful son. He has to nerve to run away in this kingdom and serve with these fucking abominations." Elza says with rage.
"When I get my hands on him. He will never leave the basement. However, we need to kill the empress first and tell we will take our son back home." Clyde explains as examines the castle while looking through his hand telescope.
"Heavily guarded, we should do it tomorrow night." Clyde suggested.
"Ok then." Elza agreed.
Just then, Clyde looks further down and sees Lance coming out of the castle with Empress Lola to the castle gardens. He saw him happy as he helped Lola plant some new seeds in the soil.
"That fucking bitch. Brainwashing my son! Why! Agh!" Clyde said with rage.
"What?" Elza asked as she took the telescope and noticed them and got angry when Lance hugged Lola after they finished planting.
Elza breaks the telescope in half since he is angry that she thinks Lola was impersonating as a mother to him.
"We better get ready. I want to kill this bitch so bad!" Elza says with rage as they head back to their hideout in the forest.
What they didn't know is that Shelia was hiding and eavesdropping in their conversation and hurried back to the castle to warn everyone. She leaves the village and feels a painful blow to her head.
"You think you are better than us?" Elza asked as she kicked her face which knocked her out cold.
"Come on. How about we torture her before we skin her fur?" Clyde suggested.
"Let her talk after she wakes up later." Elza says as she drags her into the forest.
During the night, Lance was worried since Shelia haven't returned from her duty yet. Even her friends are starting to worry as well.
"She should be home by now." Tina added.
"Come on. We better go find her." Lucinda says as she grabs her gear.
"Wait for me." Lance says as he followed them while putting his helmet on and getting his sword.
