Mind-bombed.
Here I was,in this finctional world, in a finctional guy's hut, perched on a rock bed, my eyes glued to his back as his muscles flexed while he mixed something, all while waiting for him to work his healing magic on
me.Not like I can't heal myself. Asking Eve to lead me to Harvey's hut was just a reality check, a way to confirm that I'm truly within the pages of a novel.
So, isekai is real, and here I am, living proof.
My 17-year-old self would be beyond ecstatic, but my nearly 20-year-old self isn't quite feeling it.
My relationship with this novel has always been a push-and-pull affair.
Annoyed with the female lead? I drop it. Intrigued? I pick it back up. That's why I downloaded the novel and later dove into the manhwa adaptation.
Let's just say, the manhwa images don't quite capture the eye candy that's standing right in front of me.
Harvey turned to face me, ready to begin. "Aurelia..." he started, but I cut him off. "You can call me Lia. Aurelia just feels old."
He paused for a moment, then replied, "Alright then, Lia. I'll apply this paste on the bruise and gently massage it with hot water. The pain will reduce."
I nodded, watching as he crouched in front of me, focused on his task. As his hands touched my arm, he hesitated for a moment and stared at it,before resuming the massage.
And that's when I took a closer look at him.
His ocean-blue eyes were truly something special, like they could inspire a whole song.
His perfect nose and those lips, along with his long blonde hair. He's one of those men who you'd turn around to get a second glance at.
Suddenly, his tail began to wag more and his ears twitched. His cheeks even turned pink.
He glanced at me and then quickly back to his work.
Oh, crap. He totally caught me checking him out again.
Control yourself, Lia, for heaven's sake.
I looked over at Harvey's hut, trying to decode its layout. The main hall was where I currently sat, and there were two other rooms. I craned my neck slightly, attempting to get a peek at those rooms.
But then, oh boy, the itching started. It was like my skin was having a major disagreement with itself.
Talk about needing a good scrub. I mean, it had been a whole week without a proper bath. I wondered how Harvey was handling the fragrance, or rather, the lack of it.
With a mental shrug, I turned towards him,"Harvey," I began, trying to sound polite yet a bit cheeky, "mind showing me the way to a bathing spot?" I watched as Harvey's cheeks turned a shade pinker.
Seriously, this guy could give a tomato a run for its money in the blushing department.
His response? "Umm... you can go to the river.I can accompany you." Well, that sounded promising.
But hold on a second, I needed warm water to get rid of all these colorful pigments on my skin.
"That's a fantastic idea, Harvey," I responded with a grin, "but I was hoping for some warm water" I was slightly amused as Harvey's blush deepened.
"Alright then," he said, giving a nod toward one of the rooms, "I'll fetch it up in the stone tub." As he got cracking, I couldn't resist rummaging in my bag for the soap and shampoo I had stashed away.
