"Hey, are you the one my uncle is rumored to be in love with?"
I turned towards the voice and saw a girl with short violet hair and matching violet eyes.
"Hey, please don't step on the cloth," I said as I quickly got up and folded the cloth's corners to keep them from trampling on it.
I smoothed my hair behind my ears and lifted my head to look at her. She was shorter than me, and I noticed her eyes lingering on my hair and my face, a hint of awe in her gaze.
"Uncle? Who the hell is uncle here?"
"What clan do you belong to?" she whispered, her voice barely audible, before quickly adding, "Hey, did you mate with Winston?"
Winston and 'uncle'... it suddenly clicked.
This must be Rosa.The villainess.
I didn't answer her question right away. My mind did a quick flip between two sides of myself - the naive "I'm just a stranger" or the sassy "give me a reason to care."
Her bratty tone made me lean toward the latter
"Are you deaf?" She snapped, clearly growing impatient. "And what's your name, anyway?"
I decided to have a little fun with this bratty girl.
"Names are like secrets, sweetheart. You gotta earn the privilege to know them."i replied with the same tone that she used on me.
She blinked at my response, probably not used to getting sass back. "You don't know me," her voice challenging.
I simply shook my head, indicating i don't know her.
With a smirk, I couldn't stop myself adding, "But it doesn't seem like I'm missing much."
"How dare you speak to a tiger princess like that," she seethed at me, her royal indignation clear.
But I was in the mood for a little game. "Oh my gosh," I responded, pretending to be surprised as I clutched my heart dramatically, "you're the beautiful princess I've heard about!"
"Yes, indeed"Her anger seemed to lighten into a smirk.
"I've also heard you're quite popular among the males," I added.
She couldn't resist "Why, your sources are absolutely correct," she chimed in.
With her nose held high, she continued her inquiry, "So, did you mate with him?"
I leaned in closer, maintaining my coy attitude. "Well, Princess, why do you think I'd spill the beans to you?"
She stood there, attempting to read my ever-shifting expressions, clearly perplexed by my rapidly changing demeanor.
"You... stop playing games with me. You have something that belongs to me," she asserted with a tinge of anger.
Unable to resist a final quip, I replied, "Well, Princess, the thing that belongs to you is right here," I said, playfully pointing to my stomach.
Her gaze tracked my hand's movement, and her eyes grew wide. "How dare you eat the emerald... that's MINE!" she exclaimed, her anger intensifying.
Remaining composed, I observed her reaction"No need to shout, my dear. Yelling won't magically bring the emerald back. And yes, I did consume it. You know what? My wonderful mate, he personally offered it to me," I disclosed, infusing my tone with mischief and a hint of meaning.
She stood there, eyeing me with a mix of curiosity and annoyance. "Why would he do that? That emerald is meant for a princess, not some outsider," she said, her voice dripping with disdain.
