Chapter 30

My father and I step up to the wispy but clear, bright blue Rune Barrier.

"Have you and your mother been well?" My father starts off.

"Yeah we've been making it. We rebuilt the diner, it reopens soon. What about you, how are you holding up in there?" I ask.

"That's great to hear. Oh me? Pffft, do you even have to ask, I am fine."

"But Father-!"

"What's my name Son?" He asks me.

"Sau'El Atlas."

"That's right. It wouldn't matter if they put me in the deepest level of this Stone Ocean, it wouldn't be enough for the Right Red Eyed Wolf of Rosenthorn."

I smile.

"Speaking of which, we can start there. That name, how'd you get it?"

"Ah, that's... a long story."

"We've got time."

My father chuckles.

"Alright then. There was a War. A War by many names. The Second Ragnarok, the Golden Scourge, the Second War that shaped the World, many names yet the story remains the same. The Jotunn or now the Giant race, incited a revolutionary war on the entire World, more specifically the Gyldwn clan of Giants. This ugly war roared on for decades, What started of as a small army of a few Giants, turned into a force strong enough to take on an entire Kingdom. Most of my clan has fought in this war including both my father and mother. I assume you've learned about my mother as I've been in here?" My father asks.

"Lux Atlas. The half Druid Bearer of Excaliber."

"And Former 1st Captian Commander Knight Officer of Urbs."

"Captain Commander?! I guess that explains the armor from that photograph." I think.

"So you've heard about my mother, but anything about my father?"

I shake my head no in response.

"Thought so. Fun fact, Sau'El Atlas, isn't my full name, kind of."

"Wait, what?" I ask back in confusion.

"It's, Sau'El Atlas, second of his name."

A junior basically.

"My father was Sau'El Atlas, first of his name, the former King of Clubs. A fierce warrior from the Atlas Clan, they monikered him, the Crater King, because every location he'd have his battles he'd always leave the ground riddled with craters from his explosive power. Because of his strength, former King Arthur and Queen Pertunia Rosenthorn sought out his strength for The Golden Scourge, also since the Atlas clan and Royal Family of Rosenthorn had been allies since the days of the Aesir, maybe even before that."

"Wait, what does he mean our clan is allied with the Royal family of Rosenthorn? If we're so called "allies" why is my father still in jail." I think.

"So he enlisted to be in the frontlines of the Cor Army, and suddenly the scales started to tip in our favor, and my father's as well. The battlefield is where my father and mother met, he, an ambitious warrior, she a newly promoted medic for wounded soldiers, she had not become a Knight Officer yet. And even after they had gotten married and had me and my sister, their role in the war had not ceased, they continued to fight as strong ever, my mother now a Captain Commander Knight Officer, and my father now the Royal War General of the Cor Army, things were good for a while, the war was thought to be ending, and victory seemed to be in our grasp..."
