Chapter 39

"So, you're going to just let Din'el's aid go to waste?" Finn asks me, leaping off of the red rock, in his, or my, black puffer coat and black and green hoodie.

"Wh-What do you mean? And wait how do you know Din'El? And why are you even here? And how even-!?"

*CRACK!!*

A large crack of light, rips through the red sky above us.

Finn's face jolts upwards.

"We don't have as much time, as I thought." He says seemingly unfazed by the crack. "Back on your World, when I go to sleep I have these dreams. Dreams that aren't really dreams but memories, your memories, from my world."

"My memories? So you've seen everything that I've seen? How is that even possible?" I ask.

"Not everything, I just remember flashes of images and voices, sensations as if it were me, well technically it is me but, you get what I mean."

"What... what all have you seen?"

"Since our last meeting, I seen the fight with the three Knight Officers from Squad 7, I see you met Ja'Krob and Drakken, the stuff with Quinx and the guys..."

Finn lowers his head, with a still, expressionless face.

"...the stuff with our father... The Shroud Scale... what Din'El did for us... and this beating you just took from Red Riding Hood."

"Wait you seen that?! That just happened though."

"From what I can tell, time passes differently between our two worlds, what has just transpired for you, has become a memory or dream for me, I don't know exactly how that works but, that's not what matters right now. It matters not that I can see what's going on, or even how I can see what's going on, what matters is what I am seeing."

"What do you mean?"

"So you're just going to give up huh?"

"Listen..."

"I'm listening."

I'm suddenly at a loss of words.

I'd never have expected to be getting scolded from myself.

"I'm listening Finn!! Or should I even call you that since you want to forfeit BOTH of our lives and all!"

"Hey I got shot off of a freakin' cliff okay!! I don't want to hear it!!"

"And yet you still have a chance, yet again!!"

"What are you talking about!?"

"Din'El gave you a second chance and you're wasting it!!"

"And how am I doing that, please enlighten me, because I don't know if you seen it but I'm PARALYZED!!"

A second silence enters the space.

"Din'El's talent... Banker... it can raise and even max out a random stat or attribute on who ever he touches with his Aether."

"Yes I'm well aware, what of it?"

"Do you want to know, what attribute of yours he raised? Your body's durability. It's the only reason you're alive right now."

"What... no that... how do you know that?" I ask.

"In my dream, I observed as the Aether Din'El let you borrow, left your body, I also witnessed how Red's blood bullets, hit your body. If you seen what type of damage they did to your surroundings, the trees, the ground, that boulder behind you, you'd see that her bullets didn't do as much damage to you as they should, hence why she shot you multiple times. It's also why our body isn't splattered in different places at the bottom of that cliff right now."
