Chapter 2

We all walked together to my house, this was exciting. I always hung out with Inosuke, Zenitsu and Nezuko but never Aoi and Kanao. I knew Aoi because Inosuke had a little crush on her(but he still won't admit it) and Kanao... I never talked to her. She was close with Nezuko and her sister was close with Giyuu but we never spoke towards each other. I was still confused about her change in appearance. It was like I had a filter on. A beauty filter.

"Tanjiro?" Kanao asked, tilting her head. I realized I was staring at her as I was walking. I quickly snapped out of it, flustered. "Um... W-we're here!" I stammered. Our house was modest. 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Our caretaker lived somewhere else so Giyuu basically took care of us.

"WOW! GONPACHIRO! YOUR HOUSE IS BOOTFUL!" Inosuke yelled.

"HIS NAME IS TANJIRO AND IT'S BEAUTIFUL", Aoi yelled back. The two continued to argue as we walked inside. I saw Kanao quietly observing our house, I couldn't help but stare.

"Hi guys. Hey Kanao, how's Shinobu?" Giyuu came in with his emotionless face again. He didn't smile much but he always did when we were at his favorite restaurant, eating his favorite meal, simmered salmon with daikon.

"She's good", Kanao replied. Their conversation was pretty awkward since they didn't really express themselves well.

"Nezuko! Your house is amazing! I can't wait to be with you all day~" Zenitsu hummed.

"What was that?" I asked coldly. Zenitsu screeched then hid behind Nezuko, he was a great friend just... Not good enough for my sister.

"Aoi and Kanao you can sleep in Nezuko's room and the rest of us will sleep in mine" we all went to the living room to play some games and have fun. Giyuu ended up making 4 extra servings of ramen for Inosuke. "WHY ARE YOU EATING SO MUCH!" Aoi yelled. "WHY ARE YOU YELLING SO MUCH", Inosuke yelled back. They were like this the whole day. I looked over at Kanao and Nezuko. She looked so pretty smiling. Her laugh was precious. Her voice was soothing... Wait, did I like her? It would explain what I was feeling but... Why so suddenly? No, no one call fall in love that quickly. Did I just say love? I couldn't think properly and ended up zoning out. I was so confused.

"You guys wanna play truth or dare?" Nezuko asked. We all nodded. After we ate dinner we were too full to actually do something.

"Okok... Nezuko! Truth or dare", Zenitsu asked. "Dare". I was scared of what he was going to say next.

"I DARE YOU TO KISS ME!" He hummed. Aoi and Kanao both threw pillows at him, disgusted. "How 'bout on the cheek?" Nezuko asked awkwardly. Then suddenly, Zenitsu fainted. The girls rushed over to check on him, Inosuke and I were used to this.

"He'll be fine. NOW AROI! Truth or dare!" He looked at her like he had something evil planned. "... Truth". Inosuke groaned. "NO! You have to choose dare!" He complained.

"I have a truth for her", Kanao spoke quietly. "Do you have a crush?" she asked. Aoi immediately turned red. "No!... Maybe..." she muttered. Zenitsu and I whispered in Inosuke's ear, "it's you". He started to turn red too. He buried his face in a pillow, embarrassed. Nezuko and Zenitsu started teasing them, wanting them to confess to each other already.

"How about you Tanjiro? Do you like someone?" Kanao asked. Startled by the question, I started to panic. I knew her seeing me flustered was a big hint but I couldn't control it. She started to laugh. It was mesmerizing.

"So you do", she chuckled. She was the most adorable thing ever. "I-I guess", I rubbed the back of my neck, "what about you?"

"UHH", her voice got high-pitched. Did she also like someone? She started to blush, that made me fall for her more. "I don't know... I never liked anyone before... If what I am feeling is... Then yes", she smiled. I stared in awe. She was so smart and mature. Her voice was soft and calm. I admit it. I like Kanao Tsuyuri.

We decided to watch a movie after Aoi and Inosuke calmed down. It was a pretty scary one but I didn't feel bothered by it. After finding my family was murdered... I guess I was used to it. The blood and horror was nothing compared to what I saw that night. I was so glad Nezuko was still okay, I just wished the others were too. Kanao, Nezuko and I sat on the couch, Zenitsu was on the floor in front of Nezuko and Aoi and Inosuke were both on the floor. Surprisingly enough, Inosuke was being so sweet. Everytime Aoi got scared, Inosuke calmed her down and hugged her from behind, telling her it was okay. He put his chin on her shoulder, it was so cute to see them like that.

"AH!" Kanao screeched. I turned to my left and saw her trembling in fear. Without thinking, I put my arm around her, holding her close to me. She stopped shaking.

KANAO POV:

I was shaking in fear when I felt a warm, strong arm around me. It was Tanjiro. The warmth of his body calmed me down. Thanks to him, I didn't feel afraid. I put my head against his shoulder, so warm. I felt myself drifting off. My eyes started to close. Then, I felt a head on mine as I fell asleep. Tanjiro's so warm... It feels so nice. I woke up to the sound of clapping. Was the movie over? I noticed where my arms were. They were wrapped around one of Tanjiro's arms, he was asleep. I panicked and screeched, I fell down the couch... Only I didn't hit the floor. Tanjiro held my waist. He was grabbing onto me so I wouldn't fall. He must've woken up when I yelled.

"KANAO! Are you okay?" He asked, panicked. I froze, what just happened. I quickly got up and acted like nothing happened. I quickly fixed my skirt, I was still wearing my uniform.

"Onii-chan, I'm tired. Let's all change and go to sleep now!" Nezuko squealed. I quickly thanked Tanjiro then ran to Nezuko's room, I was so embarrassed. I didn't even use my coin to put my head on his shoulder! It was such a big decision and I didn't use my coin. Wait... I didn't use my coin the afternoon... The whole time I was with Tanjiro. I remembered what Kanae said yesterday, one day your heart will open up, Kanao. Whether it's a friend or a boy, I'm sure it'll happen soon. It finally happened. My heart had opened up... By Tanjiro. I finally got what Aoi was feeling and talking about. I did like someone, Tanjiro.

"Kanao... What are you thinking about?" Aoi asked. I had been so deep in thought that I stopped walking. "Oh... Yeah... Nothing, don't worry about it", I smiled, then walked to the bathroom. I changed into my pajamas, a short, purple top and white sweatpants. I took out my phone and looked through social media, it was kind of boring without talking to Tanjiro. Finally, Aoi and Nezuko came out, Nezuko was wearing a beautiful, pink gown and Aoi was wearing a blue sweater and shorts.

"But seriously... Kanao, what were you thinking about?" Aoi asked. I didn't know if I should tell her.

"You know how Kanae said one day my heart would open up? And how I wouldn't have to use the coin? Well..." I smiled. Aoi cheered. Nezuko looked at me suspiciously, I think she may have found out what I was actually thinking about.

"I believe you but... Is it also because you like someone?" she smirked. Aoi immediately smirked and stared at me. "Wha-...N-no! I don't... No!" I scoffed. Aoi and Nezuko looked at each other and smiled, having my heart opened up made me a bad liar.

"KANAO HAS A CRUSH!" They both squealed.

"SHHH! They'll hear!" I whispered.

"Oh... Is he here?" Aoi asked. I didn't want to say anything... I was a bad liar. Nezuko started to squeal again.

"It better not be Inosuke 'cause HE'S MINE!" Aoi screeched. I couldn't help but laugh. We continued to gossip for the rest of the night. It felt weird... I've never felt this way before. It sure was weird using my heart instead of a coin. Soon, I fell asleep. Happy.
