Part Two

The Breakfast

Alfina Guerrero

Breakfast was simple yet delicious. Matt made a complete English Breakfast. It had beans, hash browns, sausage, toast, eggs, black pudding, and bacon. I wolfed down the sausages first and he just looked at me.

"Sorry, I'm quite famished." I apologized. I was out for five days, of course, I'd really be famished.

"It's alright. No need to apologize. I'm just happy that you're eating well." he gave a dimpled smile which made me nervous.

Does this man smile a lot?

"Breakfast is delicious." I complimented him. I ate slowly and became conscious of my actions. I did not want to embarrass myself further from this gentleman who saved my life.

"Thank you, I'm actually a culinary school dropout. I made everything from scratch." he shared before sipping on his brewed coffee.

"Everything? No wonder it tastes so good! Dropout? Did you get in trouble or something?" I asked.

"My parents died when I was studying. My sister ran off with her lover somewhere in Switzerland or Ireland, I'm not really sure. Times are tough and Captain Jonah Reed took me under his wing and taught me the basics, " my heart ached when he told his story, it surely must be devastating for him to drop out of his school.

"So you're a whaler. What do whalers do?" I asked. I should really stop asking him all about his life.

"You sure do ask a lot of questions in kjære (my dear). Whaling is the practice or industry of hunting and killing whales for their oil, meat, or whalebone. Basically, I hunt whales and sell them." Matt grumbled.

What an awful job.

"Do you like it?" I asked.

"No, I do not. But the others, they don't feel compassion for animals at all. I feel guilty every time the season is near. It's dreadful to even think about it. These whales are going to be extinct soon and it's partly my fault." he said with a sad tone.

I could see in his eyes how much he hated his job. I knew that if he had a better circumstance in life, he would choose another profession or he would be back in culinary school.

Life is really harsh and unfair for people who do good.

I resumed eating my bacon and I was really amazed at how well he prepared all of this within a short period.

I could tell that Mathias has a good aura on him. He probably has a lot of friends and he's really outgoing. Anyone is surely a lucky fellow when they have someone like Mathias Stoltenberg in their life.

Weirdly, I'm actually enjoying this quiet life that I have right now.

I wonder what my life was before Matt saved me.

—------------------------------------

I offered to help Mat with the dishes but he said no because I was still recovering and had a pretty big wound on my leg.

He lives in the woods near the beach and it was pretty quiet. The closest neighbor that he has is on the next pier which was a forty-minute walk from his home.

"I should probably call the doctor. I had him check up on you when I found you unconscious," he said.

"Will you take long in fetching the doctor?" I asked.

Matt gave me a smile and messed up my hair.

"Do not worry min kjære, I won't take long. I have my truck that's going to save me time from walking. Do you want something? A snack or anything?" he asked.

"A change of clothes would be great," I said as I eyed the clothes that I was wearing.

I was wearing baggy trousers and an oversized shirt. He didn't really remove any of my underwear and I am sure I reek.

"Alright. I'm not good with fashion but lady clothes are okay right?" he asked with an unsure tone.

"I'm good with anything. Take care on your way." I said.

Claude Hege

The Spanish Marchioness and heiress of the Guerrero Country Clubs are still nowhere to be found after five days. The driver of the vehicle was found dead and Olivia Herrera, the secretary of the Marchioness is still unconscious and currently recovering in the hospital—

I turned off the television and massaged the temples of my forehead.

What have I done?

The love of my life is missing and is nowhere to be found.

She could be possibly alive or dead. Either of the two is devastating to think about.

"I already got rid of her Tia! What more do you want?!" my angry fiancée yelled on the phone. Zahria Guerrero became my lover because I only wanted the money since her side of the family was proven to be innocent during the infamous Guerrero trial of the century.

My business wasn't doing that great either. As a man, I needed to step up and do whatever it takes to save my business, even if it means hurting the woman I loved.

I was sitting on the couch and I was thinking about my next move.

I felt my new fiancée sit beside me and huffed.

"Did you really have to pay the paparazzi to follow her? I know damn well that you sabotaged their car!" my blood was boiling at this point with this woman.

"Tia's orders," she replied coolly as she got out a cigarette from the drawer.

"Besides, we're better off without her," she said before lighting the cigarette and blowing out smoke.

"Fuck off. You know damn well that she was a victim in all of this!" I couldn't believe this woman, she had the audacity to spit out those words despite being a relative of hers.

"It's not my fault that her mother is a corrupt woman," Zahria continued as she looked at her engagement ring.

"You know that she's not corrupt unlike her mother," I retorted.

"You can't even say my cousin's name. Is that shame or guilt?" Zahria pointed out.

"You make me laugh, Hege. Five minutes ago you were fucking my brains out and now you hear the news report about her and you're acting like a husband who misses his wife dearly," this woman is really pushing my buttons.

"Enough, you're giving me a headache," I pointed out and retreated to the bed.

Zahria looked at me and put out her cigarette and joined me on the bed.

"I'm sorry darling, let's make up?" she said with a cute pout on her face as she traced her finger on my chest.

I let out a sigh before kissing her square on the lips.

Forgive me Alfina.
