Part Nineteen

The Abduction

Alfina Guerrero

That was insane.

It has been two days since I revealed to the world that I am alive.

All of the news stations were dying to get an interview with me but I refused them all, surprisingly they respected my decision and let me rest. I've been feeling more tired lately because of the pregnancy.

What now?

Matt was out, he was with Francine. They were both busy with the business. Even though it was a fake one, Matt was so talented that he made the dying company flourish in a span of three months.

Matt decided that he wants to run it and wants to quit working as a whaler.

There was a soft knock on the door.

I groaned; it was too tiring for me to stand up.

I managed to walk to the door and I opened the door.

"My, my, my. What do we have here?" a familiar voice said.

It was Captain Jonah Reed, Matt's former employer.

"Matt isn't here, he went to town with a friend of mine," I said before shutting the door.

The Captain stuck his foot through the door.

"Oh it's not him I want, it's you!" he screamed.

—------------------------------------

When I woke up, I was in an unfamiliar place. All I know was that I was in a jail cell.

"It's good that you're awake. I was actually starting to get bored," Captain Jonah said as before hitting the metal bars of my jail cell.

"Where am I?" I asked with a groggy tone.

"You're back home," I groaned when I heard that voice.

"Seriously Claude? You're working with this shitty marine life killing Captain?" I asked him with a sarcastic tone.

"Watch your tongue, your sarcasm can only get you so far," Claude scolded.

"What are you going to do? Abandon me?" I teased.

"I would, but you're the prisoner of your own home. I'm not the one behind bars," Claude said.

"Your little act at Bellerini's party made me worry for a bit, but I know damn well that you're still a fugitive in this country. One call to the police and they will arrest you. The International Criminal Court still thinks that you're a fugitive, so who do you think won in your little act of revenge?" Claude said with an icy tone.

"You fucking disgust me, I can't believe I was in love with a crazy man like you!" I spat out.

"Oh, but baby who says that I'm going to have you arrested? I'll have your sister or cousin, or whatever the fuck you two are disposed first then we're going to get away from Spain and Norway. We will be living in a small remote town in Thailand for the rest of our lives. I also know that you're pregnant, I can't believe you let that beggar knock you up," Claude said with a venomous tone.

"If y'all are done talking, I'd like to get me some snappers. I'm hungry from all that trouble," Captain said before leaving the dungeons.

"That's really low of you, Claude. Even making the man that Matt despises work for you? That's a low blow even for you," I spat out.
