June decided to leap away after she was no longer needed in the conversation. She didn't particularly feel like getting grilled by her parents, especially because she thought this one would end in a boy chat.

Not particularly enjoyable.

She managed to fly over Grady and Sandor's head. Thankfully none of them realized Sophie and Fitz were missing, which was such a relief. That meant she probably wouldn't get in trouble.

As for her sister and boyfriend...

Yeah, no.

She jumped in bed, picking up an advanced Gusting technique book and skimming through the pages, looking for anything that remotely caught her attention.

Levitation in Motion? Yeah, no, I know that already.

Aerolocation? Been there, done that.

Skydiving? Got the T-shirt already.

Outward Pressure Channeling?

That actually sounds quite interesting.

She flipped the page, studying the graphic details as she frowned slightly, wondering why such images would be in her school textbooks.

Oh, this is disgusting- ewwwwww-

Foxfire, what the fuck?

She almost threw up when she turned a page and found a very gorey depiction of... forget it. No.

We're forgetting about this. I never read this textbook. I'm burning it immediately when I get the chance.

She shredded the textbook, ripping out handfuls of pages and crumpling them into balls and tossing them into her trash can. She'd tell Edaline to empty it somewhere permanent.

Seriously, I really did not need to see a person getting...

She shuddered.

That was so fucking disgusting.

Her Imparter buzzed, and she turned the cube over.

*Incoming call from Dexter Alvin Dizznee (4 seconds)

"Accept," she whispered, picking up the silver cube as Dex's strawberry blond hair appeared in front of her. "Hi, Dex. Why'd you call?"

"So you know how you wanted a Tesla Model Y?"

"What- oh, yeah. I don't remember telling you? I thought I'd just pressed Mr. Forkle about that for ages."

He grinned, tapping his ear. "You really think I wouldn't secretly eavesdrop on all your secret conversations? If so, think again. I've got audio monitoring devices set up everywhere in Alluveterre. Don't tell Mr. Forkle, but I've managed to sneak one on him." He winked.

"Ugh, fair enough. I suppose I'll static everything with wind then. Next time! Anyways, did you manage to secure one for me?"

"Kind of. You'll see what I mean when you come over."

"Alright, just let me get my shoes on. I've learned my lesson from today."

"Rimeshire!" she called to the Leapmaster, and the crystal lowered, casting a beam of light into her way. She stepped into the beam and glittered away, blinking when the blue glass walls appeared, shining light into her eyes. The twisted evergreen trees and snow capped mountains around her dropped shadows everywhere, intricately crossing over and intersecting.
