Colby sighed, his body shivering as he sat at the bus stop, waiting for the school bus to arrive. It was raining and Colby was in a hoodie, sweatpants, and a beanie. He didn't have a coat or an umbrella, leaving him to soak in the pouring rain. He was dreading school, the rain making his morning worse.

Colby shivered, feeling a cold creeping up behind him as he sniffled, the rain making him more vulnerable to various cases of the flu. Colby's hands were shaking, his eyes following the raindrops as they hit the road, a cool effect commencing in front of his beautiful blue eyes. Colby felt alone, feeling an emptiness in his chest as he watched the rain fall.

What was his purpose?

He didn't know what he was meant to do. He thought that grades defined him, that if he got a single low mark his life would be over instantly. So the urge for perfection lurked in his mind, wanting his father and mother to be extremely proud. No, he was no football jock or tall basketball player, but he was a band nerd. Nobody thought band nerds were cool, including various people not caring about them.

The school didn't feel safe. The school felt like his future, felt like this is where he was being judged on where his future would take him if he would end up on the streets or living in a mansion. He felt useless, he felt horrible, he felt weird, he felt alone, he felt empty, and he felt like there wasn't a purpose to live.

What is there to live for?

"Hey, are you okay?.." A voice asked softly from behind him. Colby turned his head to see a slightly shorter blond boy holding an umbrella. Colby nodded sadly, looking down at the ground where the ground fell. The boy stepped forward, covering Colby from the wretched rain. "Here, you should change out of the hoodie... Take mine," The boy offered, taking off his hoodie.

"O-Oh, no, no, no, it's okay..." Colby promised, shivering. The boy sighed, taking his hoodie off completely and handing it to Colby, his collarbone showing through his long-sleeved shirt. Colby blushed lightly, looking down with a smile. "Thank you..." Colby thanked him, a small smile on his face as he looked up once again.

"It's my pleasure..."

"Colby,"

"Colby, that's a beautiful name..." The boy said in awe. Colby felt a tingly feeling in his abdomen, feeling it tighten gently as if it was a good thing. They both stared at each other silently, feeling sparks erupt as they heard a bus horn. "Oh, shit! That's my bus..." The boy chuckled nervously.

"See you around, Colbs!"

Colby waved, the boy's hoodie covering him with warmth as he smiled contently. It smelled amazing, like the ocean. Colby didn't understand what just happened, feeling a sense of purpose creeping up on him. He felt like the world mattered now, the blonde boy changing his perspective in life.

Is this what purpose feels like?..

No, this wasn't just purpose...

It was love.
