"Mr. Williamson, this is Fredrick from your bank. We have a transaction for half a million dollars for someone named Sarah Brown?" Robert squinted his eyes at the mention. He had never heard of this name before.

"Half a million?" Robert asked all the while dialing for Valerie but when she didn't pick up he called for her assistant all the while telling the Fredrick guy. "Hold this one. I will tell you in a minute."

Valerie's assistant picked up and Robert was quick to ask. "Did she make one around half a million dollars to someone Miss Brown?"

"Yes, Mr. Williamson, it was in the morning."

"For what?" Robert asked.

"I don't know much. Should I give her the phone?" Valerie's assistant asked,

"What is she doing right now?" Robert asked hoping she let go of the matter.

"She is listening to you. It's on the speaker." Robert huffed leaning into his chair.

"Valerie, you could have called me earlier so this Miss Brown's company doesn't have to wait."

"Sarah isn't important. You won't get any negative feedback on Glassdoor." And, Robert wonders if Valerie knows what Glassdoor is about. Also, if she is giving some business a half million dollars that girl is bound to be important.

"Thank you for thinking it through, angel..." Robert huffed but closed his eyes and added. "Can you be home tonight?"

"You think you can buy my night if I have decided to spend some of your money?" Robert hated how she never cares about privacy and would say any mindless stuff in front of her assistant. But all this time in the marriage had made a lot of people from their immediate staff aware of what they are. So, he didn't care too when he tried to reason. "You are my wife. To whom else I am supposed to go? You better be home tonight. Enough with this..."

"Cut the call," She ordered her assistant and Robert sighed heavily. He wonders why she was doing it. What could she want? He was pondering a lot on this question for some time now.

Robert called the bank and allowed the transaction. He didn't want to give Valerie any more reasons. He tried to stay busy with his work but was distracted. He had this steroid therapy going for a few days and Valerie had to get mad in the same week he wonders.

As if it wasn't enough a mistake from the accounting department got them to halt one of their major projects. Saying he was mad was an understatement. He yelled at the top of his lungs in the accounting department and fired the man for the mistake and the other three people who could prevent it from happening. It was as if no one around him wanted to work or cared. And, he was tired of trying to be enough.

From the outside world, it seems he was doing great. His business was growing and expanding. He had access to unlimited resources but all he wanted was his wife. He wonders if he was put through this for a reason. He always wanted Valerie. One look at her and he knew she was to treasure. But he didn't know what she wanted anymore. It wasn't money. It wasn't his attention or time. She would find reasons to stay away. And, would control him through this. He had promised himself that he will never hurt her and he wanted to stick to his commitment.

But Valerie was testing his patience for some time now. It seems he was the only one trying to carry on. Valerie had this power to make him feel at the edge of heaven. He didn't know whether she will let him in or leave him in the desert. Everything was slipping from his hand like sand. He swear he was losing his sanity at this point.

The tension between his mother and his wife was increasing with each passing day. He could do anything for his wife but wonders when she will grow up and stop acting up. Each day he wonders what he has done wrong. It's been quite a few days since she was staying at a hotel. Not that he hasn't tried to get to her but she won't let him in.

It was only after three months into the marriage that Robert realized that they both had different views regarding how a marriage should be. But Robert who had always made everything in his life work somehow knew he had to make the most important commitment of a lifetime. And, that was his marriage to Valerie.

Valerie didn't want a baby soon. And, thinking she needed time he wanted to wait until she feels ready. But it was only getting worse. As if limiting his meetings with his female friends wasn't enough she also had a problem with him visiting his grandmother too. It was such a difficult situation and he ended up reducing his visits to her grandmother only one time per month.

It's been a week Valerie was mad about a comment his mother made about her expenses. Where Valerie wanted him to support her in all of her childish endeavors he wanted her to act a little responsible. Robert has already stopped taking her to the all-business parties where there will be no fun or dance. Because his wife will say something completely childish to make a comment about her expensive dress or jewelry.

Only a month ago she bought a two million dollar watch and gave it to her friend after two weeks. Robert wasn't mad about it. He hated the part where she made a reporter ask about the watch her friend was wearing. And, she made a subtle comment about how her friend liked it more so she passed it to her.

It was around nine p.m. when he asked his assistant Benson to make a drink for him. Robert had a very trusted assistant Natasha Gilbert but Valerie had a problem with her too even though she was someone in her forties. He admit Natasha had a killer look and looked younger but what he hated most was the lack of Valerie's trust. Robert had to transfer Natasha to assist his CFO.

Benson used to assist Valerie's father. He was great at work too. But his sight always made Robert recall what havoc Valerie raised to replace Natasha. No matter how much he tries to move on and forget what Valerie does. It seems she was filling her pot. The thing that worries Robert most was how long he could hold on. He feared it will snap at a point. It was weighing a lot on him.

Robert held his drink and seemed to be thinking something before he gulped the harsh liquor in one gulp. His hooded eyes squint while his neck moved up and down.

Thinking if he should be visiting Valerie again he decided against it. "To home," he said and Benson nodded, "Sure,"

The tension in Robert's body was increasing when he was in the car. He looked at the half bottle and started chugging it down. Giving in he dialed for Valerie who picked up the phone on the third ring. "Hello?" Her voice came out sleepy.

"Why are you doing this?" Robert slurred.

"I miss you too, Robert. You know I love you." Robert smiled realizing this time she didn't take much time to get around.

"Why don't you come home then?" Robert asked but she was quick to groan. "I am too sleepy...but I want you by my side right now..."

"Really?" Robert asked.

"Yea, like right now..." She mumbled incoherently before telling him. "...I was thinking if we should try for a baby. I would love to give it a try today."

"Is this really you suggesting or you are drunk?"

"Shouldn't be you taking advantage of my situation?" The tension in Robert's pants only got higher when he told Benson who was sitting right beside the driver.

"To Hilton,"
