Charlie stared up at the school gates, he didn't think he'd be coming back to Truham certainly not with a 12 week old at home, an arm snaked around his shoulders as Nick buried his head in the crook of Charlie's neck, "Didn't think I'd be back here," Charlie gulped, Nick had spent the night before with Charlie and Genevieve so the two of them had to take the bus with Tori, "Come on the sooner it's over with the better." Charlie kept his head down walking straight over to his friends, "Charlie Spring you little sod when can we meet Jenny she's practically Nick's doppelgänger with your eyes!" Tao announced but was promptly told to keep it down, "Look I don't want to draw any unwanted attention it's bad enough I've been gone for a year add a kid into the mix yeah. There's the bell we need to go," Nick felt himself being dragged by Charlie to tutor.

"Charlie?" The teacher said on an off chance, "Here sir," "Alright stop, oh your actually here where were you for the last year?" "Helping to establish living colonies in a different galaxy. Got back two weeks ago," Charlie said hoping to god no one would bring up Genevieve, "He also had a kid in that time. You'll never guess who the other dad is, none other than golden boy Nick Nelson," someone snarked to receive a dirty glare from both boys, "It's not nice to spread lies," "He's not though miss," Nick and Charlie said they didn't want to lie about Genevieve but they weren't going to walk around with an advertisement board, "Got pregnant before I left, had our daughter Nick came out to see us thanks to worm hole wouldn't trade that week for anything," "I wouldn't either," Nick tap Charlie's nose with one finger like his does to Vi sometimes, they stared into each others eyes for a split second then focused back on the lesson, "Expecting photos you two." While everyone was chatting Mr Herbert came over to see a photo of Genevieve, Nick just should him the one he took this morning of Charlie laying on his stomach having a stare off with Vi who was doing the same thing, "Nick's doppelgänger for sure with Charlie's eyes. How have you been getting on?" "Honestly fine so far, family has been really supportive, JIST perks include free childcare," "Wouldn't encourage this at all but we're handling it," Charlie took his hand rubbing it before interlocking his fingers with Nicks.

Charlie was constantly being asked for photos honestly just really annoying him. Never asked Nick for any of it annoying him even more. "Why does she have just Nick's last name?" Tao asked without looking up from his chicken nuggets, Nick was playing rugby not to far off with some of his friends, "Well thats difficult to explain. You know how abrasive my family are, if anything were to happen to me Nick wouldn't stand a chance in even getting visitation rights. We refer to her as Spring-Nelson but if you know," Charlie flashed his left hand wiggling his third finger to pass on the hint, "Oh got ya," "Then I will take Nick's name. Never told him that but it's on the books for the future. Dam mum was right," "What?" "Baby withdrawal," "Oh god yeah it's your first day without Genevieve," Charlie scratched the back of his head, "Not exactly. On missions I don't have a moment to think about anything non current situation related and when I got back I had immediate contact with her and we can't use phones nor can my grandparents work skype so no contact there," "Got ya." Nick waved towards the two of them but being lunatics they pulled faces back to be met with laughter.

Charlie choose to stay for a little while after school to have a chat with his head of year regarding what he missed, as his grandparents were outside waiting for Charlie to come and pick up Genevieve Nick decided to be nice as he could hang around for a bit, "Hi Vi," Nick cooed scooping her up from the car seat, "Have you seen Charlie yet Nick?" "He's speaking with his head of year I can take her and meet him if you have somewhere to be?" He offered clutching at her fingers, "Please do bingo waits for no one!" With that they had handed off the nappy bag bid goodbye and left, "Come on let's find your papi," Nick smiled adjusting her in his arms.

Nick and Genevieve went searching till Nick gave up and texted Charlie, "Oh sir Nick and Genevieve are looking for me," "Perfectly fine bring them down here," Mr Zachary smiled reassuring Charlie with his soft smile, "Knock knock picked up a stray along the way," Nick joked entering the spacious office, "Hi Vi," Charlie cooed taking her into his own arms, "She is just too cute definitely your daughter," Mr Zachary smiled taking her finger, "Shoot I need to be going I'm due on shift in half an hour," "Oh my god it's your first time back," "In the cockpit baby been a year I and get to see if I haven't lost my touch," "Hello?" "Sorry sir yeah see you later."

Putting on his flight gear was an incredible feeling Charlie met up with his NO for the flight on the tarmac, there craft was waiting, "Gunner how does it feel to be back in the cockpit after having a kid?" Bonnet asked holding a mock microphone, "Thrilling now hold on tight asshole!" Charlie hit full throttle and took off into the skyline.
