This is a true story except I am the neighbour over the back in this situation and this the exact story played out the evening I wrote this.
Made up the little bit at the end the neighbours are still uncomfortably unaware.
Wrote this quickly, as in twenty minutes quick because I'm tired but it was to funny not to share. Might take it down for a rewrite, depends.
Enjoy!
Nick and Charlie had done it. After years of hard work and renting a minuscule flat in Leeds they worked there way up there careers and had the money to buy their own home. This was a major achievement as they had moved to Leeds ten years ago for university then just never left. Nick played for the Leeds professional rugby team and Charlie worked in editing specialising in gay romances while he wrote and published his own novels. Well the biggest career opportunity so far for Nick was being transferred to a London team, of course Charlie wasn't going to hold him back he started looking for jobs in and around roughly where they wanted to live. It was over dinner when Nick shyly suggested returning to there hometown of Truham to buy their first home, didn't have to be the same district or community but try Truham. Charlie made sure Nick was aware the commute was nearly two hours but sure whatever floats his boat.
They found it, their perfect home. A couple in there 60s had just retired and were moving to Spain for their retirement, lovely couple Charlie helped them learn more detailed Spanish during the house negations. They were taking their car and a trailer, that was it. They were leaving their furniture and anything else the boys wanted. Out of sheer joy and gratefulness after they had paid the deposit that they offered there agile bodies to help them. Nick and Charlie were quickly informed of the handshake agreement that the previous owners had with the family behind them about the shared fence. They take in turns replacing fence panels and they painted them individually. Simple enough. Mark and Theresa the previous owners took them around meticulously introducing them to all of the new neighbours making sure that the otherwise OAP populated housing estate were aware of Nick and Charlie. Sitting and thinking about it across the two roads (three rows of houses two back onto each other) it was Nick and Charlie, the family over the back and the other family over the back and to the left who's son is a similar age to them.
Sandy there staffy was overjoyed by the massive garden she now had access to, relentlessly sniffing ever corner and getting acquainted with the new neighbours two staffy's. Including the one that likes to intimate Pongo from 101 Dalmatians when he sends a message across London to the old Colonel. That did get irritating but Nick and Charlie were used to the noise of Leeds so it was a piece of cake.
Finally taking it all in Nick sat down on there bed. Mark and Theresa had gotten rid of there bed at the boy's request they understandably wanted a new bed extra. He admired their repainted bedroom, he could hear Charlie typing away in the other room, Nick had the off season but Charlie had to keep actively working so his office was the priority. Desk, chair, laptop minimum till they can set up his desktop. "Char?" Nick called, he was leaning against the door in a deep green hoodie sleeves pushed up, "Hm?" He sounded turning to face Nick, his jaw dropped and he had to actively think about not drooling, "Damn," Charlie smirked biting at his lip, "I'm so glad that you are all mine," he continued. Nick smirked, "I was just coming to ask what time your finishing," "Right now if it means I get you all to myself tonight," "Done." Nick declared reaching out for Charlie to take his hand.
Wandering through the halls of their house they tenderly exchanged gentle kisses, Nick's hands caressing Charlie's hips and neck, Charlie were entangled with Nick's hair. Flicking on the bedroom light off went the hoodie and down went the trousers, they always waited a moment so Charlie could decide whether to keep his top on or take it off. Tonight it was coming off. Honestly to them it felt like they hadn't had sex in years when it had been just a few nights before; they were each others firsts and will be their lasts. Little did they know.
The neighbours over the back were enjoying a typical Saturday night, the youngest (me!) had just gotten home from her waitressing job, the eldest not long before from answering phones at the local Chinese takeaway. Settling in to eat some ice cream and watch Inside Windsor Castle, the sun was in the youngest's eyes and she got up to pull the back door blind down. By sheer dumb luck she glanced up and across the two long gardens, their they stood fully illuminated by the bedroom light Nick and Charlie having fun in all there glory. Mortified she quickly pulled the blind and turned to tell her family. That one time made neighbourhood gossip as they weren't the only people to have seen it.
Charlie was MORTIFIED when they were gently informed at the road BBQ, Nick was profusely apologising and trying to make sure that no news outlet would get ahold of it. Ironically the only one at the age most likely to tell people was the one who saw the lot (me! I wonder but I'm sorry it's just to funny not have been made into a Nick and Charlie AU).
