Dark secrets haunt Charlie, he was one of the lucky few, he and Tori were adopted after being in the system since they were 4 and 5, they were only a year apart, year and a few days. Had there fair share of abusive homes, kick outs, runaways, they had a half sibling about three years younger than them met on the streets when they were 10 and 11 meaning she was 7. The three of them dodge around the place, Tori got a boyfriend who grassed them up to the system, two years of hell they ran away again seeking the help if an older suburbs kid but when Charlie discovered the true deal they had with him one thing lead to another and they had to leave town leaving Evelyn behind.

They put there dark secrets behind them after being adopted never told anyone they had a sister. Expect when it all came tumbling down, Mr Lang put the BBC live on and it opened up onto a crime seen, "If you are just joining us now good morning a dog walker discovered the body of a little girl wrapped in what police say resembles a school cardigan, the recent floods brought the body to the surface," Charlie knew that area, he immediately texted Tori to turn the news on, "Charlie you okay?" Nick whispered, commotion on camera from more earth giving way a second body tumbled out, "In an interesting development a second body has been found," Tori and Charlie if they were in the same room would be exchanging panicked looks. First chance they got they skived to cycle down to the crime scene, they hadn't seen Evelyn since they wrapped her in Charlie's old school jumper with a bouquet of flowers in her hand before burying her. They went back every year around the same time she was killed. It was only a matter of time before they were shewed out, they were noticed up in the trees above very quickly and were taken back to school.

Neither paid attention to the scolding and had to do tutor iso for the rest of the day then full isolation the next day, Tori was stoic the whole time while Charlie was visibly upset it was his fault that Evelyn was dead. The second body? Their old foster dad's brother a total creep, Evelyn and Tori walked in on him raping Charlie Evelyn grabbed a piece of wood and hit him with it till he let go of Charlie but the crazy man straggled Evelyn to death while Charlie and Tori tried to pry them apart Tori then smashed a flower pot over his head dead. Dead there and then. Panicking they did the only thing they thought of moved the man to under the shrubs but buried Evelyn wrapped in their school jumpers for a shroud and the flowers in there hand.

Each day they grew more and more nervous, the police seemed to be getting closer to figuring it out what happened and therefore finding Tori and Charlie. They had been settled with Julio and Jane Spring after there actual adoption, it wasn't fair to drag them into their mess, it was obvious that something was up. No one put it together. The day the police came banging on the classroom door is one always to be remembered, Charlie was making small talk with Nick when the officers softly knocked on the door with SLT behind them, tears were streaming immediately confusing others with no context, "Charlie Spring can we speak to you about your sister Evelyn Kensuke?" "We didn't mean for it to happen, he wouldn't let go so Evelyn hit him to get him off me but he strangled her, we should have tried harder, we didn't want them to die. He just didn't let go," Charlie spat the words out at a hundred miles per hour with no filter, tears were streaming down his face, police didn't know what to do they had no idea what was going on in Higgs and it was the middle of a classroom, "Charlie shall we take this to the corridor?" "We just wanted our sister back," Nick offered him a hug which was gratefully taken.
