Jason and I were taking things slow. As we should, because he still has so much drama with Cheryl. But I had his back like always. I'm glad I finally got the courage to admit my feelings and happy that he was feeling me too. I was sitting in the park with Kyle. He needed advice again.

"So, what's up."

"I hear you are a taken woman now," he says

"Yea, Jace and I are an item."

"He's treating you well" I shake my head. Sometimes I felt Kyle acted too much like an overprotective brother, but it was all love.

"Yea, he does his baby mama, though."

"Yea, Cheryl, crazy."

"How you know," I say, turning and giving him a look

"Girl, everybody knows about it, how she totaled his car with some damn bricks and a baseball bat.

I shake my head. Yea, her ass was really crazy.

"We didn't come here to talk about Jace and his issues. We here to talk about you," I say

"Tammy's pregnant."

"What"

"Yea"

"So you're gonna be a daddy."

"Yea, it's great," he says

"So what's the problem?"

"There is none."

"Boy, you called me here 'cause you said you needed advice."

"I do. I want to ask Tammy to marry me. Do you think it's too soon?"

Wow, I had to think I wasn't expecting that

"What do you think?"

"I think I want to marry her."

"Okay, are you asking because you want to get married or because of the baby?" I ask

"I would marry her even if she wasn't pregnant. We've been best friends for a long time, so I know there is nothing and no one else for me. I don't know about her, but marriage is our next step."

"Well, it sounds like you made up your mind."

"But do you think it's too soon," he asked

as long as you and her think it's perfect timing, then what anybody else thinks should not matter."

"You're right. Thanks for listening."

"Any time, bro," I say. We hug and part ways. I make my way over to Jason's place. I knock on the door, and he opens it, pulling me in.

"I want you to go home and pack a weekend bag."

"Uh, why," I say

"Because we're leaving, I'm taking you somewhere; it could be just me and you away from the drama. Just, just be us," he says

"How do you know I didn't have plans?"

"Kei," he says, and I smile and nod. Okay, he kissed me, and I was out the door heading home to pack for this mystery trip.

I woke up in Chris' arms and couldn't help but smile. It felt good we didn't do anything but kiss last night, and it was fine with me. Knowing he felt the same way about me, I couldn't help but smile. I go grab a cup of water, and Nei is sitting on the couch, looking depressed. I clear my throat.
