Taylor

Things have been rocky between Kay, Wayne, and me. It's so damn messed up. Part of me wishes I never told Kayden how I felt, and I'm not sure how I feel about Wayne. Honestly, I really just wanted our friendship back. It was a Friday night, and instead of having our movie night, I was home alone, watching some lifetime movie and eating ice cream. I knew part of the tension between us was my fault, but I wasn't ready to admit that yet. Just as I was about to call it a night and turn the TV off, there was a knock at my door. I get up and look out the window to see Kayden and Wayne. Wayne had a pizza in his hand, and Kayden was carrying bags of junk food.

"What are you guys doing here?" I ask as I open the door.

"What, you forget, it's movie night Friday," Wayne says, walking into my house and going into the kitchen with the pizza as Kayden sits on my sofa and makes himself comfortable spreading the drinks on the table. Wayne enters the living room with three plates, handing one to Kayden before turning towards me. I know I wanted this, but I hadn't talked to these two idiots in weeks, and they think they can just roll up in my house like nothing has been weird between us.

"Yo ass, just go stand there or put a movie on," says Kay, and I look at him like he is crazy. Does he not know who he is talking to?

'Yea, Tay, come on before the damn pizza gets cold," Wayne says, and I snap.

"What the hell are you two doing here?"

"What the hell does it look like? What's wrong with you?" Kayden asks

"The hell is wrong with me, you fools? Y'all wanna  sit here and act like we ain't talked in weeks."

"That's because of your ass. You, the one holds grudges and shit and doesn't talk to people."

"Says the fool that acts differently toward his best friend when he gets around other dudes."

"Can you two please, for once, not argue?" Wayne says

"Really, Tay, what the hell that's supposed to mean," Kayden says

"Just what the hell I said," I say, getting in his face and causing him to stand up and over me. Wayne got up and got in between us.

"Damn, Tay, we came to kick it; okay, ain't that what we do? Why the attitude?" Wayne asked

"You know why I ain't heard from neither one of you fools in weeks, and you just pop up at my house," I say

"Shut up, Kay and Tay. He is right. You could have called; hell, you could have even sent a message in a bottle," Wayne says, throwing Kayden a bottle of water out of the kitchen.

" Besides, we didn't just pop up. We have been doing this for years unless you want it to stop. Just say so." Wayne says, staring me down and waiting for me to say something.

"Nah, ya'll cool I say, sitting down but not looking at either one."

"This how yo ass gone act now because I'm not feeling it," Kayden says

"Yeah, I don't feel the way you act half the time. I still deal with yo, punk ass," I say

"Aye, come on, you just said we ain't talked in weeks, and this is what y'all want to do," Wayne says.

I roll my eyes. Yeah, I missed them, but I didn't miss the tension, so I really wasn't feeling them just popping over. Wayne handed me my pizza. I grabbed it this time. They were here now, so I might as well just let it go and enjoy the movie.

I woke up and felt someone's arm around me. I turn to see the person next to me; of course, it's Jackson. I don't know how I found myself back here, but I don't know what to do. This was my best friend, and I didn't want to lose him in my life. But I also was tired of this; last night, memories started to come back, and of course, I let my feelings for him and the alcohol cloud my judgment and ended up back here. When will I learn? I lifted up his arm so I could get up and shower. I know I keep saying I will stop this, but it doesn't seem like I can. But I have to because, honestly, this is making me resent him, and he is still my best friend. I was just about to turn the water off in the shower when my shower curtain pulled back, and he got in. I move to leave, but he grabs me.
