Keisha
I shake my head, watching my best friend argue with his baby mama about who he is messing around with, Jason, my best friend since kindergarten. We have been through so much together, Through first loves and plenty of bad relationships. Especially his ass; he always tends to go after the wrong girls. And come complaining to me when everything doesn't work out. Finally, they stop arguing, and he walks away from the house as she slams the door, and he gets in my car.
"So, what happened to your car?" I asked as he closed my door and put on his seat belt.
"I told you her crazy ass busted all the windows, so it's at the shop" I shake my head, trying not to laugh. It was kind of sad because this was her third time doing this. Giving me the side eyes, he shakes his head.
"That shit ain't funny, Keisha. This is the third time she did some shit like this."
"Hey, I told you to watch her when y'all started dating, but you were all in love and shit."
"Yea, but damn, I didn't think she was this freaking crazy; she wouldn't even let me see my damn daughter today. What type of shit is that," he says with a sigh.
Not wanting to get in their business, I don't comment. Plus, I mean, I'm biased when it comes to him.
"I just wish I could rewind time and keep walking the day I met her crazy ass."
"don't say that, "I say. "Then you wouldn't have a jewel
"You're right. Damn, I wish I could just find me, someone that ain't with all the drama and wouldn't cheat on me," he says as I pull up at his job. I park the car, and he gets out.
"Thanks for the ride, kei, and for listening to my problems again."
I nod my head and pull off. I was always there for him whenever he needed if only he could see that the someone he was looking for was right here.

Shanise
"I mean, she wants to play these games with me after all I did for her ass," he says.
I watched my best friend complain about the new chick he was dealing with. Chris and I have been friends since we were two. There was nothing I didn't know about him and nothing he didn't know about me. We were in the apartment I shared with my sister, and Chris
was talking about the latest relationship that was going wrong. Yet he won't break up with her. He says he actually wants to make it work. I roll my eyes. But whatever makes him happy, except I know he's not happy, I wish he could see that she wasn't one that could make him happy.
"Nise, are you even listening," he says, breaking me out of my thoughts
"Yea, I am Chris. She tries to play games; you are going to get even."
"You're gonna help me, right," he says. I look at him like he is crazy
"What," I say
Before he could reply, there was a knock on my door. I answered it. It was a delivery man.
"Delivery for a Shansie and Neomia James"
"I'm Shanise," I say
"Sign here" I do what he says, and I look up, and he's smiling. I'm not going to lie. He was cute.
"Can I just say you are a beautiful woman?" I couldn't help it. I started blushing. I mean, you don't get too many cute delivery men giving you compliments every day.
"I'm Jacob, by the way."
"Shanise, but you knew that, "I say
"You delivered the package; don't you got other deliveries to make" Chris comes out of nowhere, interrupting our flirting. I sigh. Since we were old enough to date and guys started to pay attention to me, he had been overprotective. I swear he was too much sometimes, but I never said anything because, well, I'm secretly in love with my best friend, and sadly, I'm just someone he comes to complain about the woman in his life that he is interested in. I say goodbye to the man who looks quite offended by Chris. I shake my head and put the package on the kitchen counter for Mia and me to open later.
"Did you have to do that?" I say
"Hell yea, did you see how he looked at you? Lucky I was here, "he says
"Right, lucky you were complaining about Helen again."
I say, sitting back in the armchair.
"You alright, nise?" he questions
"Yeah, I'm good."
"You sure"
"Yes, Chris, just drop it."
"You weren't interested in the delivery boy, were you," he said
I laugh and shake my head no.
"Good because you can do way better than that."
I shake my head as he sits on my couch, and we go back to how maybe he should break up with Helen. I know he won't, though.
