The family had finally settled down to a peaceful breakfast after Anaya's joyous return. Everyone was silently enjoying their meal when Rooh appeared, looking flustered as she made a hasty exit towards the door.
Rooh, where are you off to?", Saraswati, called out.
"Umm, I just need to arrange some pending files at the office....."Rooh turned, stammering
"But have breakfast first, dear," Saraswati insisted, pulling out a chair. "We haven't even thanked you properly yet."
"No, it's okay, Ma'am. I'm just glad I could help." Rooh hesitated, clearly uncomfortable.
"Mom's asking you to stay, Rooh......Don't disobey her," Ved spoke calmly from his seat, tension flickering across his face.
Rooh reluctantly sat down beside him. Saraswati served her food with a warm smile, patting her head affectionately. For a precious moment, peace reigned at the breakfast table.
Suddenly, the tranquility was shattered by Rhea's dramatic entrance.
"Hello, good morning everyone!" she declared, standing beside Rooh."The wedding is over, right?......... You'll be leaving this place now" Rhea scoffed theatrically
Just as Rooh began to stand, Ved reached out, gently holding her hand and guiding her back into her seat.
"Nobody invited you anyway, Rhea. Why the unnecessary show?", Aarav, ever the instigator, chimed in with a mouthful of food.
"What's this behavior? She's your soon-to-be sister-in-law." Tripal spoke up firmly.
"I don't consider her that," Aarav retorted stubbornly.
"Your opinion doesn't matter in this. You're not the one marrying her", Manish, his voice heavy with authority, declared,
Ved, his gaze fixed on his father, countered,
"Exactly. Your opinion doesn't matter, apparently".Rhea, attempting to exert control, placed a hand on Ved's shoulder. He flinched away, his irritation evident. He stood up abruptly, grabbing his coat and bag. Then, he reached for Rooh's wrist, pulling her up with him.
"Khana khaa lo, Ved", Saraswati pleaded, following them.
"I don't have any appetite anymore," Ved replied coldly.
Manish slammed his fist on the table."Your unnecessary ego won't get you anywhere!.....I've fixed your marriage with Rhea, and that's final!" , his voice booming.
"And your ego matters, of course? Sorry, but I won't marry her," Ved retorted defiantly.
Saraswati intervened, trying to calm Manish down. But he roughly pushed her hand away, causing her to lose her balance. Luckily, both Rooh and Ved were there to catch her. Ved glared furiously at Manish, who looked at Saraswati with a pang of guilt.
