Sunlight streamed through the window, she turned towards the empty space beside her, a sigh escaping her lips. Ved must have left early. Her thoughts were interrupted by the bathroom doorknob turning. Ved emerged, a towel wrapped around his waist, another in his hand drying his hair. Their eyes met, a flicker of a smile crossed Rooh's face, but Ved ignored it, searching for his clothes with a cold expression.

"Let me help you find them, I put them away," Rooh offered, moving out of bed.

"No need, I can manage," Ved replied curtly. Rooh frowned; his behavior was strange this morning. sighed and went to bathroom. As Ved combed his hair, a startled scream pierced the silence. He rushed towards the bathroom door.

"Rooh! What happened? Are you alright? Open the door!" Ved panicked, knocking loudly.

"Rooh, answer me! Damn it, are you okay? Open the door!" he screamed. A muffled reply came from inside,

 "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. Sorry."

"Open the door," Ved demanded sternly.

The door creaked open, revealing Rooh holding her hand. Ved's gaze darted across her figure, clad in undergarments and a towel. He quickly looked away.

"What happened? Why did you scream?" he questioned.

"Just a burn. I didn't realize the water was hot," Rooh mumbled. Ved sighed and led her back to bed, tending to her burn with a first-aid kit.

"You should be careful. It's my fault, I should have warned you about the warm water," he said.

"But it wasn't my fault," Rooh countered, meeting his gaze.

Breakfast was a tense affair. Silence hung heavy in the air. Rooh noticed the distance between her parents and felt compelled to address it. Taking a deep breath, she kept the spoon back, drawing some curious glances.
