~Third Person POV~
~14 years before our story starts~
All of the Shadow Paw pack were having their annual moon festival and were celebrating in the large field clearing of their pack lands. There a little girl with charcoal hair and angelic, blue eyes was impressing her friend with her magical abilities. She wasn't like usual wolf pups in her pack. She had been blessed by the moon goddess when she was born and now she had magical powers. She had no idea why she had them and neither did her parents really, but they loved her regardless and helped her best they could. She had a small pendant which she had to keep on at all times to keep her powers under control."It's so cool, how you can make flowers do that Lyds." the little boy said to her as she made flowers bloom around them.
"Thank you Ez, I think this is my favourite power though." the little girl replied.
"I like your fire power more," the little boy replied. She giggled at him and her parents watched on with happy faces. The alpha to be and their little girl were such close friends. Their older children were off with their own friends groups happy as can be. They worried about their oldest girl sometimes. She was a wild one. She was rebellious and a little spoilt. Also it seemed that she was jealous of her younger sister at times. They treated all their kids equal, but of course they had to check on their youngest a little more, not just because she was an inquistive little four year old, but because of her abilities too. The evening went on beautifully. The pups were playing and laughing. Everyone else was eating and socialising. It was a lovely atsmosphere. Until it wasn't. The Nightmares attacked. Soon the laughs became screams and what was running was blood. Blood was running on the grass and down trees. Everyone was screaming. Lydia was being carried by her big brother with his hands over her ears as she screamed and cried. She cried hard. She was scared. Really scared. The Nightshade children, ran through the forests without their parents in search of them and safety. As they were searching for their parents a Nightmare landed in front of them, snarling and drooling at the 3 children. The brother didn't know what to do anymore. This thing would kill them all, so he did the only thing he could think of. Get him and his sisters to run. They wouldn't get far, but maybe they'd get around other wolves of their pack to help them. They screamed as they ran into the clearing. As the Nightmare pounced the 3 closed their eyes in fear, but the pain never came. In front of them was their father, in his wolf form fighting off the Nightmare. Their mother was stopping the Nightmares from attacking her children from behind. They fought hard and valiantly, but there efforts were in vain. The Nightmare bit through their father's neck and their mother was pounced on by a load of Nightmares attacking her on the ground. It was traumatising to see for anyone, but these children were shocked, hurt, traumaed and terrified. The little girl cradled in her brother's arms began to scream with pain and agony at the loss of her parents. It was a loud gut wrenching scream and then suddenly all the Nightmares flew back from a wave of energy and their bodies contorted and twisted. The brother and older sister were shocked and terrified at what they had seen. The little girl had stopped screaming once she saw everything and now she was silent and looking at the scene around her. She hadn't known she could do that. Older wolves found them and clammoured around. It seems that the little girl's power reached every single Nightmare that had attacked them. They were all dead. This led to them fearing the little girl when the siblings explained and if they were honest, they were scared too. They were scared of the little girl. They consoled the 3 pups for the death of their parents, but it didn't stop everyone's minds wandering from what else the little girl was capable of. And it led to a tough upbringing for the little one.I know this chapter was quite short, trust me the rest will be longer, but this is just so you know what happened to Lydia's parents and you get a glimpse of what her life was like before and a glimpse at her powers. Hope you enjoyed it my lovely angels. See you next Monday, Love you guys, Blessings and Peace.
