Selenas POV:
"Wake up, you little bitch!" A deep raspy voice yelled out.
Ice cold water splashed in my face and made me gasp for air. I sat up quickly and leaned against the cold and moist wall. It was freezing. My eyes tried to adjust to the surroundings. I could see the steel bars to my left where I had a view of the Scottish highlands. Other than that my cosy cell had nothing but a little bit of hay on the ground and stone walls. Great.
"Get your fat ass off the ground and get in the house." My father yelled. He was a tall man with a strong and broad build. His shoulder length hair was black as the night. Eyes just as black as his soul and his bushy eyebrows were prominent. He looked like a werewolf. He stood tall in the doorway to the cell. "Whats going on?'' I groaned annoyingly, "There is a meeting at the Malfoy manor tonight" he said proudly. I knew he had been waiting to show me off to the dark lord for a long time now. The last six months we had been training nonstop. According to him, I needed additional combat training. I myself do not agree. I'm sure it was just to discipline me to make sure I was kept in line. "Oh, and you better conceal your bruises and whatnot. I need you to look your best tonight. Understood?" He straightened his back, chin up and looked down at me "Yes, sir." I mumbled.
I pulled myself off the ground and started the walk up to the house. We had a big luxurious home but after my mother died our manor lost its warmth. The once magnificent manor was crumbling. The garden was overgrown. Dominated by the wild thorn bushes. Stretching its sharp arms up the sides of the manor. The corridors left dark and empty. Broken decor scattered around the halls. My fathers madness had seeped into the stones of the foundation. Even the few paintings that had survived seemed affected by his madness. Their vacant ghostly eyes followed my every move as I made my way to my room. The deafening silence that had taken up residence in our home was once in a while broken by the occasionally menacing laugh from one of the paintings. Or a scream would be heard echoing through the manor. The monsters that my father had chained up in the dungeon could be heard scratching the walls, longing for their freedom. The manor wasn't haunted by a ghost but by sorrow and pain. We were very wealthy. The caves beneath Rain manor were filled with gallons and treasures. But my father seemed to like the decay and see our once proud family home deteriorate.
I got to my room and had a look around. It had been a month since I had been allowed to enter the manor. I had spent my time in the outdoor cells. I didn't have much anymore. My bed stood in the middle of the room, pushed up against the left side of the room. A small dresser stood on the opposite side. I made my way towards it and picked up a small picture of my mom. The only picture left of her. I looked alot like her. We had the same long blond hair, high cheekbones, plump lips and light green eyes. She was a tall slender woman whereas I was shorter and had more muscle packed on my otherwise small frame. She used to tell me that we had our likeness from the old gods. My mouth twisted as my eyes fell on her wrists. She had a gold bracelet on each. If someone saw them. They would think that they were some beautiful jewellery. But the story of them was dark and twisted. Those bracelets were made hundreds of years ago. Specifically to keep the women in my family in check. They were anti-magic bracelets and since my mother died, they had been passed down to me. My father was terrified of my magic so I always had them on. Unless he took them off me so I could venture out on missions for him. When he needed my... talents.
I let out a deep breath that I didn't know I was holding in and put down the picture. I went to the bathroom that was adjacent to my room and took a shower, washing off all the blood and dirt. Once I was done I wrapped a towel around my body and made my way over to the mirror and looked at myself. "Merlin! what the fuck is this" my eyes were bloodshot and blackened, a gash on my cheek and a busted lip. "No wonder why I feel like shit" I said to myself as I walked over to my potion cabinet. I took out some healing potions and bruising paste and started to heal myself. I couldn't use magic as the bracelets hang from my wrists as always. After some time my body went back to normal... well almost. I could feel a couple of broken ribs, but I needed a special potion for that. One I hadn't had the time to make. Note to self - remember to ask professor Snape for the Skele-gro potion.
