Selena's POV:
The heat of the fireplace comforted my soul as I sat in my own world thinking about what was to come. I was terrified of my new bond to Lucius. A man that I have never met and only have heard bad things about. Even his own son was terrified of him. The Malfoys came from one of the richest and most powerful family dynasties in the wizarding world. And I must say... It was pretty fucking intimidating sitting in their home.
"Sel?..." A soft spoken voice caught my attention. I looked to my right and saw Draco and his mother walk towards me. I sent him a smile and got up to greet him. "Draco.." I smiled and invited him in for a hug. He quickly pulled me in and wrapped his long arms around me a little too tightly. "Not so tight, mate. I'm not in good condition right now." I said and pulled away from him. He looked at me with concern. "What happened? Are you hurt?" He asked me with a worried expression on his face. "I've got some broken ribs. Is Professor Snape still here?" I asked, not acknowledging his concern. "Yeah, I think he is still lurking around here somewhere... How did it happen?" He asked me a bit more firmly. "It's a long story. I'll tell you later. I promise." I said and gave him a reassuring smile. He let out a breath and said "Fine..." He turned to his side and took his mothers hand and led her forward. "Mother, this is Selena Rain. Sel, this is my mother Narcissa Malfoy." She outstretched her hand for me and I took it. "It is so nice to finally meet you, Selena. I've heard so much about you throughout the years. It's nice to finally be able to put a face on you." She said with a warm smile. She was so beautiful and had this welcoming and soothing energy to her. "It's nice to meet you too, Ms. And I hope it's only good things you heard about me." I said and gave Draco a teasing look, earning a laugh from them both.
Suddenly a loud popping sound echoed from the dining room, indicating that someone had left the manor. We all turned our heads towards the sound just in time before the grand doors to the dining room sprung open. My father came rushing at me and grabbed my arm, tearing me away from the others. He leaned down and whispered in my ear. "I'm gonna make you regret your disloyalty towards me, girl." He sneered. I was so used to his treats that it didn't bother me one bit. I turned my head towards him. "Let me remind you of something, dear father... I'm not bound to you anymore. So let me give you some advice... keep one eye open, yeah? You know what I'm capable of. You taught me well, remember?" I whispered back. His startled expression gave him away as he backed away from me. He stared at me for a couple of seconds before he raised his hand to strike me.
"Balloch, what the hell are you doing!?" Lucius bellowed as he made his way towards us. "I'm just disciplining my daughter Lucius, stay out of this!" my father said through gritted teeth. "Touch the girl and I will make you regret you ever sat foot in this place! " Lucius said, with an unnerving calmness to his voice. It sent a shiver down my spine as I quickly shifted my gaze towards him and back at my father. He stood there contemplating his next move but ended up giving me a look full of hatred before he quickly left the manor.
I let out a deep breath that I didn't know I was holding on to. "Draco, show the girl to the guest room in your wing. Don't stay up too late. I expect to see you both at breakfast." Lucius said without as much as a glance in my direction. "Yes, father.." Draco said with a slight bow as Lucius and Narcissa made their way up the stairs. Leaving us alone in the grand entrance hall.
"What the hell happened to you, Sel?" Draco pulled my attention away from the stairs and took my hand. "I haven't seen you in what?... 5-6 months?" "Aw did you miss me?" I taunted and gave him a charming fake smile. "Cut the shit Selena, I'm being serious." I rolled my eyes and said. "yeah, yeah i know... can we at least go somewhere private?" I asked. "Fine," he said, clearly irritated and led me up the black marbled stairs towards his room. We walked along a dark gloomy hallway. Paintings decorating the walls and candles lit up as we walked but just barely, creating a haunting vibe. I liked it.
