I woke up feeling happy... and content? I think that's how it felt like. I felt rested and at peace. I slowly opened my eyes and was greeted by the sun peeking through the heavy curtains. I flicked my wrist and made the curtains swing open, allowing the sun to light up my room. I looked up at my nightstand and saw the clock point its arms at 11 am. Merlin, I have never slept this long before. I chuckled to myself and snuggled up in the soft silky covers. A few movements passed by before I heard a knock on my door. "Yes?" I called out, voice groggy and hoarse. "It's Draco, may I come in?" , "Yeah, sure." I answered. The door opened and Draco walked over and sat down beside me on my bed. "Is everything okay?" He asked and caressed my arm. I opened my eyes to look at him. "Why wouldn't it be?" I said with a smile on my lips. Draco looked at me with concern. "Well, It's just that you didn't show up at breakfast nor did I see you after I returned to the manor and father seemed quite pissed off by you not showing up. So I just wanted to check in, you know?" I sat up in bed and stretched and let out a yawn. "I'm fine Draco, as you can see." , " Hey! Is that my t-shirt? I have been looking for that, give it back, you hag!" He said "Absolutely not. It's mine now and it has been for the past year." I chuckled. Draco scoffed and crossed his arms "Bloody thief" He mumbled under his breath with an amused look on his face. With a small smile playing on his lips, his eyes travelled back to mine before lowering his gaze and suddenly tilted his head with brows furrowed. "What the fuck is that?" He said as he grabbed my shoulders and pushed my hair to one side. "Merlin, Selena! What happened?" , "What are you talking about?" I said, confused as to what he meant and got up to look at myself in the large mirror leaning against the wall. Immediately I knew what he was referring to, and my eyes widened at the sight of my neck. A large deep purple-coloured handprint covered the entirety of my neck. "Did he bloody do that... my father?" Draco asked as he made his way towards me. "Yeah... it seems so." I walked over to my wand, on the nightstand and casted a concealment charm on it and the rest of my scars hidden away under the famed t-shirt, as Draco didn't know about them yet. Now wasn't exactly the time for deep conversations about childhood traumas. I turned to look at Draco who was fuming already. "Don't worry, Draco, It's not that serious." I said with a chuckle. He snapped his head up and fixed me with a look full of disbelief. "How can you say that!? I mean look at you!" He said and gestured to the faded mark. "It happens sometimes, alright? I don't know why but I will be sure to mention it to professor Snape. He might know something?" I said mindlessly. Draco looked at me baffled. "Right, yes of course, like that makes it any better? And what kind of answer is that anyway?" Draco scoffed. "Draco, for The love of Merlin. I'm fine! I promise! Look, I'm all happy! Now, can we just leave it at that?" I said and started changing. Draco huffed and stood for a moment, eyes closed as he pinched the bridge of his nose. He then walked over to my closet and picked out my outfit for today, which ended up being a mid-thigh skirt, a belt and a high turtleneck. "We simply need to get you something other than black." Draco shaked his head as he went to sit on the foot of the bed with his legs crossed, one foot tapping as he waited for me to get ready. "What's wrong with black?" I asked. He rolled his eyes at me "It's too fucking depressing, that's what it is! Now, if you don't mind... What happened when you returned to the manor last night?" I looked at him through the mirror while fixing my hair up in a messy bun. "Well, Lucius was rather cross with me for leaving the manor in the first place and demanded that I told him where I had been. I couldn't tell, of course, so I just showed him the scars from the vow. He flipped out and basically grounded my ass, as if I was some child." Draco started laughing "Serves you right, though. I'm so glad I'm not you." He said and wiped a tear that had escaped. I rolled my eyes at him and put on some makeup. Suddenly I heard the door open and close. I turned around and saw that Draco had left. I frantically looked around the room in search of my t-shirt. Fuck, he didn't!.

I ran out of my room "HEY! Now who's a bloody thief! Get back here!" I called out for him. His stupid giggles came from somewhere down the stairs. So I ran through the gothic manner at a dangerously high speed. Jumping down to the foot of the stairs and through the entrance hall, making my way to the dining room. I slammed through the doors and was met with the sight of Lucius, Narcissa and Snape sitting around the table, but no sign of Draco. I slowly made my way around the table at the opposite end of where they sat with my hands behind my back. I quickly scanned the room. Lucius sat with his face in his hand, clearly annoyed at our shenanigans. Narcissa tried to hide a smile and Snape looked disbelieving. "Come out, come out wherever you are." I taunted. I heard a faint shuffle from underneath the table and quickly hunched down. "There you are." I said and tilted my head to the side. "Are you hiding beneath your mothers skirt, ferret boy?" I mocked him. In a flash he got out from underneath the table and headed towards the doors to the entrance hall. I quickly got up and leaped over the table in my pursuit after him. I Jumped off the table and ran towards Draco, who was heading for the front door. Just before he could reach the door I tackled him down to the floor and straddled him. "Give it back!" I said and grabbed the t-shirt trying to prey it out of his hands. "No, it's mine!" He laughed.
