CHRIS get out of the bathroom!" nick banged on the door. "wait your turn nick." chris yelled. "you've been in the bathroom for fifteen minutes, it's my turn and i'm already gonna be late getting ready." nick ranted.

chris opened the door and smiled. "done." he smirked. "done." nick mocked as he walked past chris and pushed him out to the bathroom.

chris walked downstairs to see matt, mary lou, and jimmy sitting around the table in the kitchen.

"morning honey." mary lou smiled at chris. "morning." he returned the smile as he grabbed his pepsi and pulled pork sandwich with honey barbecue twist chips from the fridge.

taking his signature seat next to matt. jimmy eyed his son's choice of nutrition for 8:00 am. "are you sure that's what you want to eat for you're test this morning?" jimmy eyed chris as he downed his pepsi.

"you know he can't function without his—" matt started. "cold pepsi cola." everyone mocked chris, even nick who yelled from upstairs.

"whatever, plus i'm probably not gonna get in, nor want to." chris shrugged.

"why not? this could be a great way for you guys to get the opportunity to get a better education to help support your dreams." mary lou hinted.

nick wanted to be a photographer, chris wanted to start his own fashion line and matt wanted to become a psychologist.

but the three knew that would never be possible in the lower class end of one tree hill, the graduation rate is forty percent.

most people either work at the grocery store or some other minimum wage job. so the three didn't think anything different, and chris knew that his chances of getting into one tree hill prep were one in six hundred.

"your mother is right, this could be a good opportunity for you guys and i don't want you to pass it up." jimmy urged.

"but of course, it only matters if you try you're best. whether you get in or not we will still be proud of you." she smiled.

"thanks, mom." matt smiled. mary lou touched his cheek before going back to eating her pancakes.

"i don't want to go to another school anyway. i have friends here and i don't want to go to school with a bunch of snobby rich kids." chris disagreed.
