Following the advice of Ardella, Daenerys sent Grey worm to send a message to Yunkai. The silver queen demanded the masters to surrender or to meet the same fate as Astapor. Proving Ardella right, one of the ruling wise masters of Yunkai requested an audience with the queen, outside of their high-walls.
"Why is she here, your grace?" Jorah Mormont grunted at the presence of the Baratheon in his queen's council. Ardella rolled her eyes at the question as she finds the Bear Island man annoying to her core.
The queen's answer was simple and concise,"Because I want her here." The princess smiled at Daenerys's response that left no room for protest from the old man and took her time appraising the young queen, awaiting the envoy of Yunkai.
Daenerys was wearing a loose white dress that is more regal than her usual attire. As promised before, the princess didn't bother to hide the intensity of her eyes as they roam around the queen's figure boldly.
When their eyes met, she simply gave her a knowing smirk that caused Daenerys to look away unbothered but the princess knew that behind the queenly mask, the Targaryen's body tensed under her stare.
Upon the report that the wise master's company is nearing the army camp, Daenerys ordered her three dragons to be present by her side. It was Ardella's first time seeing them up close and it was hard not to admire them along with their mother.
The Yunkish wise master was generous and respectful at first but as the silver queen refused to sail away without liberating the slaves, he barked and left to soothen his bruised ego. The shift of the master's mood, the queen's threats and dragons' show of power were all amusing to the Baratheon princess.
Few days passed and a report of Yunkish masters hiring a mercenary soldiers called Second Sons reached the Targaryen army. While Daenerys left to spy on the said mercenaries camping outside the wall of Yunkai, Ardella was receiving her Valyrian lessons from Missandei in her tent.
The talented translator was always a pleasant company to the princess. "What is the difference between Bravoosi Valyrian and Pentoshi Valyrian?"
"They are all Low Valyrian branched from the High Valyrian, princess." Missandei spoke with her usual gentle and clear tone.
"No wonder my Valyrian is pathetic. I have been learning the bastards of the language." Ardella laughed as she has gotten used to lowering her guard at the presence of the queen's translator.
The princess poured herself and Missandei some wine and approached the seated woman in front of her. "Tell me, I am no princess to you. Why do you address me as one?"
Refusing the goblet offered to her politely, Missandei responded, "I am not familiar with the customs of Westeros. I thought it was expected to address one by their noble status."
Ardella hummed, "But I wish to be addressed by my name."
"Your wish is my command." The newly released slave spoke out of habit which caused the Baratheon to laugh but this time causing her to spill the wine on herself.
Missandei rose to help the girl wipe the stain on her leather vest. Before they noticed the proximity of their current state, the queen cleared her throat for the duo to turn their head towards the tent's entrance.
Upon seeing her queen, Missandei retreated and left the Westerosi women to converse in private. "Did you find the Second Sons?" Ardella asked unbothered.
"Yes. I sent a message to meet them in person." Daenerys approached Ardella and took the goblet Missandei refused from the table. Seeing the wine spot getting darker, Ardella started to untie the strings of her vest and asked, "Why?"
