"Vanilla or chocolate?" a brunette with a red handkerchief tied in her hair asked herself as she looked at the various ice creams inside a glass case.
"Or maybe something more complex like blue moon or superman?" the girl questioned while putting a gloved hand up to her chin in deep thought.
Ash, who just recently got a job at this establishment, from behind the counter asked, "Can I help you with something ma'am?"
"Also, should I get sprinkles or maybe just the classical cherry on top?" the girl said, completely ignoring him.
Ash adjusted his work hat that displayed "Tasty Treats" with a picture of an ice cream cone in between the words. Silently, he pondered if he should say something else or just leave the girl be. Being the beginning of his shift, which started 30 minutes after school, the brunette was the only customer in the store. So, Ash didn't have a legitimate excuse to rush the girl. However, he was getting more and more irritated as time went on.
Finally, Ash's patience worn thin after a few minutes of the girl just staring intensely at the different ice creams and toppings with her blue eyes. He cleared his throat in another attempt to get her attention.
Like before, the girl didn't react and continued with her intense staring while leaning closer to the display.
Ash wasn't ready to give up yet and cleared his throat louder.
The girl didn't even flinch.
Having enough, the black haired teenager inhaled a bunch of oxygen and readied himself to make a noise she would most definitely hear.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you?" a male person said as he entered the shop.
Slowly releasing the gathered up air, Ash looked over at the newcomer and took in his appearance. The guy had green hair and eyes and appeared to be the same age as him and the girl. Like with the brunette, Ash immediately recognized who the green haired person was.
Flipping a piece of hair out of his eyes, the guy clarified his earlier statement. "She gets real cranky if someone bothers her when she's like this."
Ash blinked once before he waved his hand in a "whatever" sort of way. He wasn't one to judge people.
"She should be done. . ." the green haired person suddenly said after a couple seconds of silence "Right. . . About. . . Now."
Immediately, the girl loudly declared, "I'll have a large waffle cone ice cream with vanilla for the first scoop, blue moon for the second, and super man for the third! Also, I want sprinkles and a cherry on top!"
Ash stared blankly at the girl in disbelief at the crazy order.
Meanwhile, the green haired person shook his head. He was used to the brunette's antics.
Absentmindedly, Ash fulfilled the girl's strange order while the brunette excitedly watched. Finally, he completed the cone and held it outwards.
The brunette happily snatched the offered treat and began to lick away.
"That will be $6.22," Ash said as he pushed buttons on the cash register.
The guy came forward and took out his wallet. "I'll pay for it."
"Thank you, Drew!" the girl said while giving a cute wink to the now named Drew. "You're the best boyfriend ever!"
Drew, trying to play it cool, flipped his hair again and said, "Don't worry about it."
Ash, however, noticed that the green haired's cheeks were slightly red and his hand was shaking as he handed over the appropriate bills.
"Thank you! Come again!" Ash said in a bogus tone while giving Drew back his change. An obvious fake smile was on his face.
